英語語法: 短語as it were, at one's best的用法

用法：as it were是固定用法，多位於句中或者句末，在句中作插入語。

 

例句1：He can be, as it were, the most talented musician since modern times.

他可以說是近代以來最有才華的音樂家。

 

結構分析：He是主語，can be是系動詞, as是引導定語從句，在從句中作表語，it是主語，were是系動詞, the most talented musician是表語（the most talented是三個前置定語），since modern times是時間狀語（modern是前置定語）。

 

4. at one’s best在最佳狀態

用法：at one’s best通常位於be動詞之後，在句中作表語或者狀語。

 

例句1：When the storm was at its best, the most powerful hunters would have to hide.

暴風雨最猛烈的時候，最強壯的獵人也要躲避起來。

 

結構分析：When引導時間狀語從句，the storm是主語，was at its best是系表型謂語（系動詞was+表語at its best）, the most powerful hunters是主語，would have是謂語，to hide是賓語。
