前言
受#費格森教學大綱(#FergusonSyllabus),#立石教學大綱(#StandingRockSyllabus)、#黑人伊斯蘭教學大綱(#BlackIslamSyllabus)和其他類似教學大綱的啟發,本閱讀書目提供了在美國教授和學習反穆種族主義的資源。儘管「恐伊症」是公共話語中最容易辨認的術語,但它並沒有準確地表達出那種助長了穆斯林在美國面臨的各種各樣的歧視的,對種族的和宗教的「他者」的塑造。恐伊症這個術語僅僅把這些各種各樣的歧視及其根源歸結為宗教歧視問題。稱之為「恐懼症」暗示,這種歧視只是個人偏好問題,這就遮蔽了反穆種族主義的結構、系統的生產。

通過把這種理解——即恐伊症乃是反穆種族主義——擺到中心位置,本教學大綱挑戰了那種認為恐伊症不過是個人的一種偏見,只要人們對伊斯蘭的認識上去了,反穆種族主義就必然會減弱或消失的想法。相反,本教學大綱指出,為挑戰恐伊症即反穆種族主義的假設、邏輯和實踐,更多地去了解暴力、不平等和戰爭的結構,是如何造就這種反穆的種族主義和歧視,並使之對日常生活的方方面面產生影響的,是必要的。儘管這裡提供的閱讀材料包括一些討論近來的,像2017年的「禁穆」行政令那樣的事件,但它們也表明,類似的政策,不但在之前就已經有過,而且也被應用到其他社群頭上。
