Last time I was talking about 「out of line」. It means someone’s behavior is bad.
Today my Chinese girlfriend said to me: 「Why are we so different, I think we should eat McDonalds today and you think we should eat KFC.」 I told her: 「 Actually, my thoughts are in line with yours」. She said: 「what!?!? In line? Doesn’t in line mean queuing up?」
上次我們在討論「out of line」， 它指的是行為過分。她說：我們為什麼那麼不同。我說今天要去吃麥當勞你就說要吃肯德基。我說：其實我的想法是 in line 的。他說：什麼來著！！？in line 不是指排隊嗎？
Actually there is another way to use in line. In line can mean that we are thinking the same thing or that we think the same way. Another way to say this is 「on the same page」.
其實in line 也可以指想法一致的。另外一個表示意見一致的說法是 「on the same page」.
1. You want to open an English school. Actually, my thoughts are in line with yours. Can I be your business partner?
你想開英語學校，其實我也是這麼想的。 要不我做你創業夥伴吧？
（Remember: if you want to use 「in line」 this way, you must add 「with」 at the end. 這樣用記得形式要在後面加with，in line with.）
2. My brother also wants to be a lawyer. Our goals are in line.
我的弟弟也想做律師。我們的目標是一致的。
3. I think you should be in charge of sales and I should be in charge of design. Are we on the same page?
我的想法是你負責銷售我負責設計。你同意我的想法嗎？
I want to teach you English at Meisi. Are we on the same page? If we are, come and join us!
