Hello, everyone, my name is Florence. I’m a teacher with Meisi.
嗨，大家好，我的名字是Florence. 我是美思的英語老師。
One of my good friends came to my house yesterday. She was crying when she came. I asked her what was wrong. She told me: 「 I got thrown,」. I could not understand her at all. She explained: 「my boyfriend swung me」. What was she trying to say? Later I found out she meant :」被甩了」.
我的一個好朋友昨天來到我家，她哭了。我問她怎麼了，她說「I got thrown」。我完全不明白她是什麼意思，然後她解釋說 「my boyfriend swung me」. 她在說什麼？後來我才知道，她的意思是 「我被甩了」。
So what’s the right way to say this? 甩does indeed mean throw or swing, but this word cannot be used in English to talk about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you.
所以，應該如何正確表達這個意思呢。「甩」確實是扔的意思，但是這個詞在英語裡不能表示男朋友或者女朋友離開你。
Let’s look at how we should talk about this:
我們來看看應該怎麼說：
She dumped me when she found out I got fired.
當她發現我被開除了，就把我甩了。
How can he dump her like that? How could he say such nasty things about her? Can’t they break up in a friendly way?
他怎麼能夠這樣把它甩了？怎麼能說那麼難聽的話？分手不能友好一點嗎？
This relationship just isn’t working out.
這份感情真的不能繼續下去了。 （含義是指分開對雙方都好而並非一方不滿意對方）
Maybe we’re just not made for each other.
也許我們真的不是天生的一對。（說這一句不一定是要提出分手，只是討論一下是否要繼續下去，看看對方的意見）
