已經在家裡面宅了好久了，真的好想出去逛街呀！想起以前和姐妹們出門逛街的日子，感覺都是很久以前的事情了，不但不敢上街，連家門口的超市也不敢去了。
說到超市，大家知道超市的英文是怎麼說的嗎？相信大家的第一反應就是」supermarket」。

英 [supmɑkt] 美 [suprmɑrkt]
在英文的翻譯中，將supermarket表達為：a large shop/store that sells food, drinks and goods used in the home. People choose what they want from the shelves and pay for it as they leave.
（就是說它是一個銷售家庭中使用的食品、飲料和商品的大商店/商店。人們從貨架上選擇他們想要的東西，並在離開時支付費用。）
但是，在美國，很少會有人把超市直接表達為supermarket一詞，我住在本地人家裡的時候，發現大家使用的不是我們常常以為的supermarket,而是grocery store。

grocery store
英 [ɡrsri st(r)] 美 [ɡrosri str]
這個詞在字典中的意思是：A shop/store that sells food and other things used in the home. In American English」grocery store」is often used to mean」supermarket」.
（就是說」grocery store」是一個出售食品和家裡使用的其他東西的商店/商店。在美國英語中，「雜貨店」常被用來指「超市」。）
所以，在日常生活中，美國人常常會用這個詞來代替我們的「supermarket」，在大家要去美國玩或是和本地的朋友交流的時候，可以適當地進行替換哦~
例句：I worked stocking shelves in a grocery store .
我在一家雜貨店工作，負責為貨架上貨。
After school, I had picked up Nick and Ted and made the rounds of the drycleaner and the grocery store .
