我們通常在結帳時，會付錢給對方，但「付錢」可不能說「pay money」哦！
1. 付錢 ≠ pay money？
其實，pay用作動詞，表示付錢給（某人），其賓語通常是人或具體的錢，或以這兩者為雙賓語。如果你想表達付錢給某人，直接說「I paid him.」就可以了，正如「給我寫信」直接說「Write to me」一樣。
I paid her.（√）
我付錢給她。
I paid 20 dollars. （√）
我付了20美元。
I paid her 20 dollars.=I paid 20 dollars to her. （√）
我給她付了20美元。
pay也常用於這些短語中：
pay back 償還（借款）；報復
pay off 還清（債務等）；獲得成功
I'll pay you back later.
我回頭還你錢。
I won't pay my mortgage off until 2020.
我的貸款到2020年才能還完。
He was determined to become a doctor and her persistence paid off.
他下定決心要當一名醫生，最終他的努力沒有白費。
說到「買單」，買單就是請客。關於「買單」，很多人可能知道「have/get/pay the bill」，但是使用的時候卻不分場合。那麼，究竟該在哪個場合使用哪個短語才合適呢？
1. have/get/pay the bill
Hey, waiter, Could I have/get/have the bill?
嗨，服務員，我要買單。
Let's pay the bill.
我們買單吧。
It's time to pay the bill.
是時候結帳了！
場景二：這頓飯你要請客的時候。
Hey guys, I will get the bill this time.
嘿，朋友們。這次我請客！
場景三：招手示意服務員，「這邊要結帳啦」的時候。
Hi, may I have the bill?
你好，這邊想買單了。
2. on somebody
This dinner is on her. She just got the scholarship.
晚餐她請，她剛榮獲獎學金。
It's on me.
我請客，算我帳上。（美國常用俚語）
店老闆請客：It's on the house（店裡免費贈送）
On me this time.
這次我請客。
3. my treat
It's my treat today.
今天我做東。
4. foot the bill
Let me foot the bill tonight. Next time you'll treat.
今晚我付帳吧，下次你請客。
註：此處foot是「支付」的意思！
5. be paying.
I'm paying tonight.
今晚我請客。
6. be one's guest.
Be my guest
「請便， 不用客氣」，類似於help yourself to it.
Be my guest. Please order whatever you want to have.
晚餐我請，你想吃什麼隨便點吧。
7. take the check
check 在這裡指「帳單」的意思，也可以作動詞表"買單"
We'll take the check./ Check, please.
我們買單。
8. pick up the tab/bill
Listen, please don't argue with me. Let me pick up the tab/bill this time.
行了，都別跟我爭啦。這次我來買單吧。
PS：tab（此處意為「帳單」），可與bill進行同義替換。
說完了「請客」，我們下來再說說「AA」，其實「AA」現在在朋友之間也越來越容易被接受，那「AA」的英文怎麼來說呢？
1. Let's split the bill.
我們分開付帳吧。
2. We'd like to pay separately.
我們分開埋單。
3. Separate check, please.
分別買單，謝謝。
5. How about we pay our own share?
我們各付各的如何？
6. Let's go halvsies.
我們各付一半吧。
No.1: Could you please tell me how much it is?
No.2: Could I have the check, please?
No.3: Would you please bring me the check?
還有一種說法：what’s the damage？
這句英文表達，常用於歪果仁的日常生活中，而且還是一種很地道的說法。
劍橋詞典對這句話的解釋是：used to ask how much you have to pay for something，就是「該為....付多少錢？」的意思。不了解這句話的人，第一反應很有可能是「什麼損壞了？」，以為自己又做錯了什麼了。所以以後再聽到這句話，可不要再會錯意了哦！
