taxi [ˈtæksi]
除了計程車，taxi還可以表示滑行，特指飛機起飛前和降落後在地面的滑行。滑行燈就是taxi light，滑行道也就是 taxiway了。
大家坐飛機的時候，如果細心觀察，肯定能在飛機的座椅上看到這樣一行英文。
Table must be stowed during taxi, take off and landing.
這句話的意思就是飛機在地面滑行、起飛和著陸的時候，乘客需要收起小桌板，stow的意思就是把……收好。

為了節省開支，他周末和室友們拼車。
carpool 和 ride-sharing有可能是收費的，多適用於拼車和共同分攤車費。

meter是計量表，煤氣表、電錶和計程車計價器都可以用 meter表示。
electricity meter就是電錶，煤氣表就是gas meter，打表就是run the meter 或use the meter.
