The good news is that, after six years of disappointing growth, the world economy is gaining momentum as a cyclical recovery holds out the promise of more jobs, higher incomes, and greater prosperity going forward. But just as we see this momentum unfolding, we also see–at least in some advanced economies–doubts about the benefits of economic integration, about the very 「architecture」 that has underpinned the world economy for more than seven decades.

❤「The good news is that」意思是「好消息是，」。
❤「gaining momentum」意思是「蓄勢待發；勢頭正猛；加快發展」，the world economy is gaining momentum翻譯為「全球經濟正呈增長勢頭」或「世界經濟增長勢頭正在加強」。
❤「cyclical recovery」表示「周期性復甦」。這個一般就是這麼說的。
❤「going forward」在這裡不是「進步；向前」的意思，而是「今後；將來」，我找到了一個很合適的例句：We expect the government to initiate more incentives or subsidy programmes to encourage the adoption of solar power going forward. 我們期望政府今後將推出更多獎勵或補貼方案，鼓勵採用太陽能發電。
❤ incomes指居民收入。
❤holds out the promise of指「有望……，希望……」。我們可以看到a cyclical recovery holds out the promise of more jobs, higher incomes, and greater prosperity going forward很長，先一起來看看官方版本：周期性復甦帶來了今後就業機會增加、收入水平上升、繁榮程度提高的希望。
「帶來了今後……、……、……的希望」大家平時也不會這麼說中文吧？

這句得把三個拆了翻譯，holds out the promise of就翻成動詞「有望」，more jobs，higher incomes和greater prosperity偏正短語翻譯為動賓結構，我的譯文「周期性復甦將來有望創造更多就業機會，提高居民收入，帶來更大的經濟繁榮」是不是容易理解呢？
這種翻譯技巧要記在小本本裡喲！

主幹是we also see doubts。doubts about意思是對……的疑問，對……表示懷疑。這裡面我們能看到兩個about並列，分別是about the benefits of economic integration，about the very 「architecture」that ...
just as we see this momentum unfolding是時間狀語。
that has underpinned the world economy for more than seven decades是architecture的定語從句。
❤「unfolding」本意是「展開，顯露」，this momentum unfolding和gain momentum一樣，指「經濟增長勢頭加強」。
as的用法是在……之際，在……的時候，這樣But just as we see this momentum unfolding, we also see就很好翻譯了，直譯便是「但當我們看到全球經濟增長勢頭加強的時候，我們同樣也看到……」。
「我們」不用也ok，譯為「但正當全球經濟增長勢頭加強之際，我們看到……」。
❤「some」在這裡你把它理解成「某些」，或者「一些」都可以。不過「某些」好點兒。我們平時說一些不太好的方面習慣說某些國家，某些人怎麼樣，對不對？
❤「economic integration」表示「經濟一體化」。這個是經濟領域很常見的表達。
❤「the very+名詞」中的「the very」表示強調，不用譯出來。
「underpinned」意思是「支撐」。
❤「architecture」這個詞原文加了雙引號，是強調吧。
官方版本是「建築」，你們覺得可以嗎？
雖《資本論》中提到「經濟基礎決定上層建築」。可沒搜到【支撐世界經濟的「建築」】這種平行文本呢！
這裡應該指「架構」。我給大家找了一篇文章中的一句話【如果將世界經濟比喻成一座房子，現在支撐起房子的架構就是受力已經接近極限的財政政策和貨幣政策。】
❤「that has underpinned the world economy for more than seven decades」是定語從句，修飾the very 「architecture」。定語從句部分短，放到被修飾成分前面翻譯更好，翻譯為70多年來支撐世界經濟增長的「架構」。
