最近，在美版「知乎」Quora上這樣一個提問火了：你去過的國家裡，有哪個是與之前聽到的描述完全不一樣的？
其中有一個高贊回答：中國！
這位外國網友說：這是地球最安全的國家，在這裡，我從未感到過害怕！
「在中國從未感到害怕過」
在留言板裡，一位叫Pete Truman的網友稱，在他第一次來中國工作的時候，對中國的了解僅限於西方媒體的報導。
When I first came to China for work, most of what I had known about China was from the western media.
但在中國生活數年後，他才意識到，西方媒體上有很多垃圾信息，那些報導中國的記者很可能壓根沒來過中國。
However, after living here for a few years, I feel that there are lots and lots of junk information in the western media. It seems that a good number of journalists, who write articles about China, in all likelihood, have never been to China.
例如，西方媒體經常會爭論一個話題：在中國生活到底安不安全？
BBC在2019年的一篇文章中，開頭就對中國槍枝犯罪數量降低這一結論提出質疑。
甚至還援引澳大利亞國立大學一位研究中國犯罪事件的外國學者的觀點，他揚言「中國犯罪率降低的數據都是謊言，純粹是宣傳和數據造假」。
"There are lies, damned lies, and Chinese crime statistics. It is sheer propaganda and the falsification of data goes from each police station to the top level," he says.
這位網友表示，事實上，中國是地球上最安全的地方之一(one of the safest place to live on this earth)。
中國比他們通常在英文報紙上讀到的要好得多。
Well, China is a lot better place than what we typically read in the English newspapers.
在中國你不用擔心安全。你可以在城市和鄉村、白天和晚上閒逛，沒有任何問題，只要別犯法。
In general, you don't need to worry about safety. You can wander in cities and in the countryside. You can wander in days and in the nights. No issues. Just don't touch the law.
再來看看這份2020年全球最危險城市排名表。
你會發現，中國根本沒有任何城市上榜，反而是美國的幾個城市赫然在列。
美國權威民調機構蓋洛普（Gallup）10月27日公布了一份2020全球法律和秩序指數排名，中國名列第3，這顯示出中國民眾具有較高的安全感。
China ranked third in the latest global poll on people's perceptions of their personal security by a pollster from the United States, indicating its residents have a high sense of security.
有一位在中國待了6個月現在在美國的網友表示，在中國從來沒感到害怕過，但是在美國，他的孩子們上周就親眼目睹了隔壁樓的一起槍擊案。中國是任何國家都比不上的，尤其是對移民來說。
中國的地鐵太先進了
在這個問題下方，一位叫Kev Puh的網友回答也獲得了很多支持。
他說，在印象裡，中國是這樣的國家。
沒想到，來了以後才發現，中國是這樣的。
他說，深圳之旅改變了他的想法，讓他意識到中國有能力建造世界級的基礎設施。
深圳在那時（21世紀前10年）就已經有了地鐵，而且還比巴黎和紐約的先進得多。當時地鐵在我們國家還是很新的概念。
They have even already had subway trains back then, which is still new in my country, and the trains are much more advanced than the ones in Paris and New York.
意想不到，這個國家也獲得了「高贊」
在留言板裡，一個讓人意想不到的答案獲得了許多關注：美國！
評論卻都是大寫的「失望」二字！
在美國居住了二十多年的網友Chris Parsons感慨道，美國跟想像中的差距讓他震驚。
去亞利桑那州的首府鳳凰城，開車往南走，一路看起來像個第三世界國家。好吧，再去底特律吧，看起來還是像第三世界國家。俄勒岡州泰格德的拖車社區，看起來就像是印度或巴西的貧民窟。
Go to Phoenix, AZ, some time and drive south. Looks like a 3rd world country. Oh, but that’s just because it’s remote, desert, etc. Ok, fine. Go to Detroit, MI. Not so remote. Still looks like a third world country in places. Checkout the trailer-park pocket neighbourhoods in Tigard, OR. They look like the slum towns in India or Brazil.
他還談到，如果你只是到美國遊玩，你可能不會注意到美國根深蒂固的種族歧視、貧富差距等問題。但當你在這居住一段時間後，你會發現這裡和你想像的完全不同。
When you visit the USA as a tourist, you don’t see these problems. You probably don't even notice the insanely entrenched racism, the wealth divide, the incarceration rates, or the militarization of the police forces across the country either. But live here for a while…it's shockingly different than you'd expect.
事實上，中國好不好，安不安全，我們自己最有發言權。
經歷了2020年後，相信絕大多數中國人心裡都有了更加明確的答案。
