麥格教授的變形課
麥格登上講臺，就說了這句話「could I have your attention?」
這句話，正經翻譯就是大家注意一下，潮流翻譯就是誰的小眼睛還沒有看老師？
在有重要的事情宣布前，需要讓大家雜亂的注意力集中時，可以使用這句話「could I have your attention?」，讓大家將注意力集中到說話者身上。
「today, we will be transforming animals into water goblets.」麥格教授宣布了今天的教學任務。
（transform動詞使...改變形態，注意搭配的介詞into，transform into把...轉變成...有一個著名的大片叫《transformer》，中文翻譯《變形金剛》，還挺形象的）

（這句話採用了will be doing，就順便提一下will do 和will be doing的區別
will do僅是陳述這個事實，最終實現與否不確定；will be doing表示一個持續的狀態，有肯定會做的含義。如：
I will wait for you. 我會等你。（結果不一定會不會等）
I will be waiting for you. 我肯定會等你。（肯定）
把動物變成高腳杯？馬爾福撇了撇嘴，不以為然。
「like so」麥格教授揮動魔杖，在一隻黑白相間的鳥上慢慢點了三下，
不到三秒鐘，在架臺上鮮活的鳥像是液態融化了一般隨後變成了晶瑩剔透的高腳杯。
同學們震驚於這個事實，羅恩和harry更是驚訝地張開了嘴。
「Now it's your turn. 」麥格教授從講臺上走下來，四處尋找著練習對象，「Well, Who would like to go first?」
麥格教授一個拐彎，看中了羅恩，點名道「Mr. Weasley」
走到羅恩桌前，麥格教授重複了一遍咒語，「One, two, three. Vera Verto.」
羅恩拿起自己的魔杖，清了清嗓子。
對著正爬在書本上的寵物老鼠斑斑，鄭重地連點三下，大喊「Vera Verto.」
一道綠光自魔杖內發出，射入到斑斑體內。
老鼠的樣態開始變形，杯子開始有了雛形，可是卻變成了渾身是毛的杯子，老鼠細長的尾巴還漏在外面，老鼠的吱吱叫聲也清晰可聞。
看著羅恩變得這隻滑稽的半成品，
Harry笑得八顆牙齒都露出來，但一想到這是自己的兄弟，立馬收斂了幾分，嘴角改成淺淺的弧度。
「That wand needs replacing, Mr. Weasley.」麥格教授指著羅恩手裡綁著膠帶的魔杖道。
（可能有人會糾結魔杖不是應該被換嗎，應該是被動語態need to be replaced才對，沒錯。魔杖確實應該是被換，但need doing是主動表被動的含義。My watch needs repairing. =My watch needs to be repaired.而且need doing有一種急需的意思，如果想強調緊急需要的意味，用need doing）
赫敏突然舉手，
「Yes, Miss Granger?」麥格問道。
赫敏略微低下頭，眼睛四下亂轉，避開麥格老師的視線，問道「Professor, I was wondering if you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets.」
問完，赫敏怯怯地抬眼看了一眼麥格教授。
沒想到赫敏會問密室的問題，麥格低頭沉默了幾秒。
再次抬頭，環顧四周，看見學生們都一本正經地坐著，視線集中在自己身上，一副渴望知道答案的樣子。
麥格深吸一口氣，「Very well」，似是妥協了
（Very well表「可以」「好吧」）
麥格開口道「You all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age:Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin.」
（of the age是「近代的」「當代的」，of an age是指「同齡」）
麥格轉過身，接著說「Now, three of the founders coexisted quite harmoniously, One did not.」
（coexist動詞共存，尤指和平共存）（harmoniously和諧地）
「Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts.He believed magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. In other words, pure-bloods.Unable to sway the others, he decided to leave the school.Now, according to legend Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in this castle known as the Chamber of Secrets.」
（be selective about對...挑剔）（sway動詞說服，使信服）
「Though, shortly before departing, he sealed it until that time when his own true Heir returned to the school.The Heir alone would be able to open the Chamber and unleash the horror within, and by so doing purge the school of all those who in Slytherin's view, were unworthy to study magic.」
（purge動詞肅清）（unleash動詞釋放）（heir名詞繼承人）
「Muggle-borns.」赫敏插嘴道。
麥格點了點頭，接著說「Well naturally, the school has been searched many times.No such chamber has been found.」
（麥格前面說的一大段長話的句式其實非常好，堪稱是高考甚至四六級的模範。短語、定從、非謂都有）
（大段長話考驗大家的閱讀能力，簡單介紹一下內容，不是逐字翻。
霍格沃茲由四位巫師戈德裡克·格蘭芬多，赫爾加·赫奇帕奇，薩拉查·斯萊特林和羅伊納·拉文克勞創立，但是薩拉查·斯萊特林的教育理念卻和其他三位大有不同，薩拉查認為只有純魔法血統的學生才能夠有學習魔法的資格。因為理念不合，薩拉查準備離開學校。但在離校前，他建造了一個密室，並封閉密室，等待繼承人來臨，釋放密室中恐怖的力量，肅清那些魔法血統不純的人，即麻瓜後代）
「Professor? What exactly does legend tell us lies within the Chamber?」赫敏再次提問道。
「教授,傳聞到底說密室裡藏著什麼?」
（後面的問句結構，估計有人很迷糊。把結構這樣調整就更加清楚了legend tell us what lies within the Chamber，所以這個what問的是在密室裡有什麼）
「The Chamber is said to be home to something... ...that only the Heir of Slytherin can control.」
（be said to do 據說...）（be home to是...的所在地 be the home of才是...的家鄉）
「傳說在密室裡住著的那個東西，唯有斯萊特林的後人才能掌控」
「It is said to be the home... ...of a monster.」這次在麥格教授的聲音明顯聽出了顫音。
