本是電影、卡通、小說和漫畫中的圖書館員形象，幾乎每部都是代表作的經典。其中呈現出民眾和社會對圖書館，圖書館員形象的認知，羅列幾個有趣的給大家參考：
1、愛學習，愛研究，甚至愛冒險。
圖書館員容易被賦予了一個愛學習，愛研究的形象，像是：影集「探險奇兵The Librarian」的Miss Dalton總是能夠找出關鍵的答案；或者Flynn Carsen，根本就是個學習達人，擁有了22個學位，還是西洋劍術冠軍。
和電影「國家寶藏National Treasure」中的圖書檔案館的名字Abigail Chase更和班傑明博士一起破解了獨立宣言背後與自由鐘內所隱藏的密碼，發現了共濟會和美國開國元勳所隱藏的大寶藏。
筆者認為影集「魔法奇兵吸血鬼獵人巴菲」主角巴菲的導師Rupert Giles更可稱為圖書館員的代表。他不會殺吸血鬼或惡魔，可是他卻擁有強大的資訊能力，幫助巴菲搜尋有關他們的資料，提供弱點及殺死他們的方法，訓練出大量惡魔剋星。（比較像現實圖書館員比較能做的事）
2、擁有某些能力，堪稱魔術般神奇。
電影「時空大聖The Pagemaster」中的杜威先生，時空大聖的代表人物。身為一個很會講故事的圖書館員，看守著時空大聖的神奇動畫世界出入口的他，將故事講得栩栩如生如生，從他口中說出古典魔法般，也讓主角莫名其妙跑進了奇妙境地。
電影「神鬼傳奇The Mummy」中的Evelyn Carnahan，身為一個會讀古埃及文研究館員擁有一身能夠與古書連結的能力，也讓自己習慣與木乃伊連結，包圍危險中，而不是不小心喚醒印和闐，還是巧遇魔蠍大帝。
3、能跟鬼魅溝通，還是他本身就是幽靈？
圖書館裡面最多的是什麼？應該就是書了！書中充滿著歷史，所以裡面應該也充滿著鬼魅。
電影「魔鬼克星Ghostbusters」中紐約公共圖書館住了一位幽靈The Gray Lady，本名是Eleanor Twitty，曾經的該圖書館的館長。他沒有太多話，最愛做的事就是不停地看書，閱讀，，雖然是含冤而死，但是他決定住在圖書館內部保護圖書館的館藏，特別是稀有的特藏資料。
4、未來的圖書館員長怎樣呢？
部分電影除了呈現圖書館員的形象外，也呈現出對於圖書館，圖書館員未來的期待。
像是：電影「雪崩Snow Crash」中的圖書館員只剩下虛擬的人工智慧投影，呈現出一位中年男子的形象，有點像是西方對達文西的形象。
在他工作的CIC資料庫裡面，曾經是全世界最大的圖書館-國會圖書館，雖然已經虛擬化了。
這裡面的圖書館員管理無限的訊息，可以為用戶查找所有的資訊，只是他唯一不能做的就是「分析」和「思考」。
其他電影，影集，卡通，小說，漫畫中的圖書館員形象，各有各有趣的一面，其中：動畫「怪獸大學Monsters University」中的館員Margaret Gesner；電影「哈利波特Harry Potter」的圖書館館長Madam Pince；「時空旅人之妻The Time Traveler's Wife」女主角Henry DeTamble，都代表了圖書館員某個有趣又生動的面貌等，雖然...他們也反映了目前有人，社會對館員的認知，以及圖書館的期待著。
