我們來為大家科普一個西方的重要節日——復活節。公元325年的尼西亞宗教會議規定，每年春分月圓之後第一個星期天是復活節。而今年的復活節正是今天。那麼西方為什麼要慶祝復活節呢？
God's story: Easter.
上帝的故事：復活節。
So part of God's story is about Easter, and it begins like this.
上帝的故事中有一部分是關於復活節的，它是這樣講述的。
You might know Easter as the Sunday, a ginormous bunny hides chocolate inside plastic eggs, but Easter is really all about how much Jesus loves us, and how God sent Him to rescue us.
你可能只知道復活節是一個一隻大兔子把巧克力藏在塑料彩蛋裡的星期天，但真正意義上的復活節講的是耶穌對我們的愛，以及上帝是如何派他來拯救人類的。
Remember how the Jews, God's special family, were waiting for a king to come rescue them?
還記得作為上帝特殊家人的猶太人，是怎樣等待著王的救贖嗎？
Well, Jesus was the King, and this rescue was the whole reason He came to Earth.
耶穌就是那位王，這次救贖就是他來到地球的原因。
God had already rescued the Jews once before, but this time it was going to include everyone.
上帝以前曾經拯救過猶太人，但這次他將拯救每個人。
So one night, Jesus told His friends about the rescue.
一天晚上，耶穌告訴他的朋友們關於拯救的事。
Exciting, right?
令人興奮，對吧？
But talking about this rescue was sad.
但談論這次拯救卻很悲傷。
That's because Jesus was going to rescue the world by dying.
因為耶穌要靠死亡拯救世界。
Kids, every mean or bad thing we do deserves punishment.
孩子們，我們做的每一件壞事都會受到懲罰。
By dying, Jesus took our punishment.
耶穌以死代替我們接受懲罰。
Lots of things in life have good parts and bad parts, and just like candy bars are mostly good as long as you brush your teeth after you eat one, this story is a really good one.
生活中很多事情皆有好有壞，就像只要記得吃糖之後好好刷牙，糖果就不會帶來太大的壞處一樣，這個故事是一個很好的故事。
Anyway, talking about the rescue made Jesus sad since He didn't really want to die.
不管怎麼說耶穌不想死去，所以探討拯救行動讓他十分難過。
Thankfully, we can talk to God when we're sad.
謝天謝地，當我們悲傷之時還有上帝可以告解。
So Jesus took a few friends into a garden to pray.
於是耶穌帶幾個朋友一起到花園裡禱告。
In the garden, a guy named Judas, who people thought was Jesus' friend, came with some people to help arrest Jesus.
花園裡，人們以為是耶穌朋友的猶大，夥同他人一起來逮捕耶穌。
Peter, one of Jesus' true friends, was so mad he cut off a servant's ear with his sword, but Jesus didn't want His friends to hurt others, so Jesus healed the ear and let them arrest him.
耶穌真正的朋友彼得非常生氣，用劍割斷了一名僕人的耳朵，但耶穌不願讓朋友傷害到他人，他治好了僕人的耳朵，任人逮捕。
Then Jesus was taken to trial.
然後耶穌被帶去受審。
One of the most powerful men in the city, Pontius Pilate, wanted to let Jesus go, but many of the people wanted Jesus to die.
作為城裡最有權勢的人之一，龐提烏斯·彼拉多想讓耶穌離開，但許多人都想讓耶穌死。
They didn't believe He was the Son of God or any kind of king.
人們不相信他是上帝之子或是任何一個王。
Even after all the miracles Jesus did like healing sick people and making blind people see, they didn't believe in Him.
人們不相信耶穌所行的諸如醫治病人、令失明之人復見光明的一切神跡。
The people were so mad they started yelling, Kill Him!
他們好像失去理智，大嚷著，殺了他！
So Pontius Pilate let the soldiers take Jesus.
所以彼拉多讓士兵帶走耶穌行刑。
The soldiers made fun of the idea that Jesus was a king.
士兵們取笑耶穌為王的荒謬說法。
They put a crown of thorns on His head then nailed him to a cross.
他們在他頭上戴上刺冠，把他釘在十字架上。
Many people watched, but not all of them wanted Jesus to die.
眾人皆冷眼旁觀，但並非所有人都想讓耶穌死。
His mother and close friends were there too.
他的母親和密友也在那裡。
Just imagine how they must have felt.
試想一下他們當時的感受。
Once Jesus was up on the cross, the sun stopped shining for three whole hours in the middle of the day, but those soldiers kept right on making fun of Him.
當耶穌被釘上十字架之時，正午之陽也停止了照耀，持續了整整三個小時，但那些士兵仍繼續取笑他。
They said, if you're really God's Son, why don't you just call on some angels to save you?
他們說，如果你真是上帝之子，那你為什麼不叫天使來救你呢？
Jesus could have called on angels to save Him, but he loved us so much that he wanted to rescue us.
耶穌本可以叫天使來救他，但他是如此愛我們，想要拯救人類。
So instead, He prayed to God, Father, I place my life into your hands.
於是他向上帝祈禱，父親，我把我的生命交給你。
At that moment, Jesus died.
耶穌於那一刻死去。
And when He died, the soldiers who had just killed him realized he really was the Son of God.
當他死的時候，剛剛殺他的士兵意識到他真的是上帝之子。
Later, Jesus was put into a tomb, and a big rock blocked the entrance.
後來耶穌被放進墳墓裡，一塊巨石擋住了入口。
Jesus' friends thought that was the end, but three days later, God sent an angel to roll the stone away.
耶穌的朋友以為這便是結局了，但三天後上帝派了一個天使把巨石移開。
Don't worry, Jesus could get out on His own.
別擔心，耶穌可以自己逃離的。
The angel moved the rock so everybody else could see the tomb was empty.
天使移動了巖石，讓其他人都能看到墳墓裡是空的。
Jesus' friends were the first to stop by the tomb.
耶穌的朋友是第一個到墳墓前的。
The angel said, He has risen!
天使說，他復活了！
Which is another way of saying, Jesus is alive!
言下之意表明，耶穌還活著！
Nobody could believe it.
沒人敢相信。
Jesus took our punishment and then proved He really is the Son of God by coming back to life.
耶穌替我們接受了懲罰，然後以復活來證明他確為上帝之子。
Now, if we choose to follow Jesus, God forgives us for all the wrong things we do, because Jesus already took our punishment.
現在如果我們選擇跟隨耶穌，上帝會原諒我們所做的一切錯事，因為耶穌已經替我們接受了懲罰。
And that's the story of Easter.
這就是復活節的故事。
But that's not all there is.
但這不是全部。
Here's a quick version of what happened after the angel told the good news.
下面是天使向眾生帶來好消息後發生的事情。
Jesus' friends got scared.
耶穌的朋友們嚇壞了。
Jesus appeared to them.
耶穌向他們現身。
They saw His scars.
他們看到了他的傷疤。
It was really Him.
真的是他。
Now they could share the good news too.
現在他們也可以分享好消息了。
Jesus appeared to more than 500 people.
耶穌出現在500多人面前。
He went back up to heaven, and the best part, he promised to come back someday for everybody who follows Him, and all that is a part of God's story.
耶穌回到了天堂，最棒的是，他答應總有一天會為每一個追隨他的人而現身，所有這些都是上帝故事的一部分。
