在英語裡一般用on a bus表示在公交車上
為什麼in a bus是錯誤的表達呢？
我們先學習一下on這個介詞的用法吧
on：(覆蓋、附著)在…上(意指接觸物體表面或構成物體表面的一部分);由…支撐著;在(運輸工具)上on a bus/on the bus 在公交上
on a/the train 在火車上
on a/the ship 在大船上
on a/the plane 在飛機上
在英語裡，當on的意思是在交通工具上時，on的適用範圍是比較廣闊的空間，適用於乘客有較大走動範圍的交通工具。所以在飛機上、在火車上、在地鐵上、在船上、在公共汽車上，一般都用on。
例：
There was only one seat free on the train.
火車上只剩下一個空座。
We waited till twelve and we finally got on the plane.
我們一直等到12點才終於上了飛機。
in a car = 在汽車上
on the bus是在公交車上
但是要注意的是
在汽車上並不是on the car，而是in the car
為什麼會有這種區別？in可以用在哪些交通工具上呢？
in：在(某範圍或空間內的)某一點;在(某物的形體或範圍)中;在…內;在…中;進入in a car 在小汽車上
in a helicopter 在直升機上
in the taxi 在計程車上
我們可以看到，in指的是進入某個空間裡，一般是密閉狹窄、沒什麼走動範圍的交通工具。在汽車上、在計程車上和在直升機上我們都用的是in。
例：
He is making a long-distance call in a car.
他在車上打長途電話。
He is in a helicopter with his parents.
他和父母都在直升機上。
