怎樣突出特色呢?任校長提出了四條保障措施。其中第一條就是「按照國際慣例實行英語分級教學」,其與「充分發揮中外教師的教學優勢形成合力」;「課堂教學和課餘補習相結合,鼓勵學生大聲朗讀,成段背誦」及「用好主教材《楓葉英語》,選用適合的輔助教材,制定統一的測試標準,探索學英語的有效規律」這另外三條措施共同發揮作用,指引著楓葉中小學差異化辦學的前進方向。
Dr. Sherman Jen mentioned in the essay just published: "English course is one of the characteristic in Maple Leaf. If we lose this advantage, or the degree is not enough, we will lose our competitiveness and lose the attractiveness that Maple Leaf should have."
Among the four safeguards he proposed, the first one was "Level-based English teaching in accordance with international practice." This also highlights the important position of level-based teaching.
