「火車站」英語居然不是「train station」??

公司有個小夥伴說

第一次出國不久後

買了火車票

卻找不到火車站

她們問路人

「Excuse me, where's the train station?」

「不好意思，請問一下火車站在哪」

路人給她指了個方向

她們聽話的往那個方向走了

結果到了一個地鐵站

當時她們就

後來實在是找不到

只能在街上抓個中國的小姐姐問

小姐姐解釋說

「因為美國的軌道列車太多了，

而且美國的火車站除了火車外還有其他的軌道列車

剛剛你們問的那個路人「train station」在哪

可能他誤解了

以為你們想去搭地鐵

(美國地鐵也很像火車)

就把你們帶到地鐵站去啦。」

train是火車，所以火車站的英文是train station，這也是最常見的表達。train包括各種有軌道的車站，大部分情況都可以用它來說明，但是train station不一定每次都是火車站的意思，也有可能是地鐵。

railway station相較於train station在英國的使用頻率絕對是更高的。如果一個英國人聽到另一個英國人把「火車站」叫作train station，八成心裡都在暗暗地罵他是美國主義。

railway是鐵軌的意思，所以railway station就是火車站，我們也可以說rail station。

而在真實的日常生活中提到火車站一般都是直接說某某站

比如阿姆斯特丹中央車站就是Amsterdam Centraal station

例：

Do not worry about it,we will drive you to the railway station.

別擔心，我們會開車送你到火車站的。

終點站;航空站

這個單詞多指火車汽車的終點站和機場航站樓，比如紐約中央火車站的英文翻譯就是Grand Central Terminal.

把火車站直接翻譯為terminal並不多見，老師更推薦同學們使用train station和railway station。
