這個表達說明了強烈的飢餓感。
是一種誇張的說你快要餓死的說法。
如果你經歷了爬山，劇烈運動或者長久未進食
而感到飢餓的話就可以用starve表達，
I’m starving to death!

而famished [fmt]
同樣表示餓極了，口語裡也常用。
What's for supper? I'm famished.

munchies指的是「快餐，小（吃）點心」，
但是這裡加了the則指的是飢餓感。

can/could eat an ox
可以吃下一頭牛，和吃下一匹馬類似，都是餓得厲害，想大量吃東西的意思。ox是公牛，和bull一樣的意思。

並不是胃裡有隻餓狼，而是指胃空蕩蕩的，恨不得馬上就像餓狼一樣狼吞虎咽地吃東西。I haven't had anything since this morning. I have a wolf in my stomach.打從早上開始我就啥也沒吃，我餓得不行了。
