英語口語：「妻管嚴」你會用英語理解和表達嗎？

如果你想學習英語「妻管嚴」時，你想學習的到底是什麼？

1) 中文「妻管嚴」有：

1·諧音「氣管炎」的「妻管嚴」(諧音口語：老婆管的嚴)，

2.有「怕老婆」(口語)的同義表達，

3.有「懼內」(書面語)的說法，

2) henpeck中的peck：

我們都學過woodpecker(啄木鳥)：It's a bird. A bird that pecks the wood or tree for worms inside for food(這點「英語口語」總應該會說)

To peck就是鳥類用嘴「啄，叮」something,or somebody，所以，當一隻母雞(a hen)在peck時，意思的形象表達不言自喻：a henpecking wife/girlfriend就是這麼來的。

現在可以「用」英語「說」英語了。

3) 「用」英語「說」英語：

1. If you have a henpecking wife/girlfriend, you have a bossy wife,or a bossy girlfriend.Or：You are a henpecked husband,or man in a relationship.

A henpecking wife/girlfriend= a bossy wife/girlfriend.

這就是「妻管嚴」，這就是「河東獅吼」，這就是「牝雞司晨」，這就是「悍婦」。你就是「懼內」：a henpecked husband: You fear your wife, or girlfriend.You are afraid of your wife or girlfriend.

應該說a bossy wife/girlfriend跟fear your wife還是有區別：「悍」or「懼」？

2. His wife always runs the show in the family= He has a henpecking wife.

3. He has a nagging wife.還是=He has a henpecking wife.

4.When your wife naggs, or is naggy, she is always scolding you, or she is always finding fault with you,or she is always faultfinding.= You have a henpecking wife.

5.If you are henpecked by your wife or girlfriend, your wife is dominating you,or controlling you.

如同說中文「妻管嚴」並非只會說中文「妻管嚴」一樣，「妻管嚴」並非總是henpeck,henpeck的：We also have many other ways to say：henpeck in English.
