I have been kind of a book worm since childhood. The library I often visited was located in a quiet southern district in my hometown. I was there a lot when I was little. I liked the quiet atmosphere of the library and the overflowing fragrance released by books, which made it more enjoyable to read. I can still remember that the left side of the library was a porch and from the east to the south on the ground floor was a half-circle glass door, surrounded by smaller glass windows that were conducive to the morning sunlight penetrating into the room.Near the east glass door laid a small bed, where I always read in it. With my favorite storybooks, Heidi and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea in hand, I could spend the whole afternoon there until my mother found me and dragged me home. Every time that happened, the kind aunt in the library would smile to my mum, saying, "That's OK.He likes reading!" This was probably the pure land of the earth, letting my juvenile soul enjoy a moment of peace from the noisy and competitive world.
Till now, many years has passed by.I have been in NUDT for nearly two years.I love the library too. The university library is definitely the most appealing and magnificent place to me. The six-story library covers a vast area, with large glass windows inlaying its whole north wall, shining in the glow of the sun every morning. Besides the exquisite decoration, the numerous volumes of books make it one of the best libraries all over the Chinese universities. Being cadets in military training, we don't have much time to spend reading there, so its plentiful resources are more precious to us. Literature, academic information, and rich range of events, we can always get help from it, and of course, relieve ourselves a little bit from our tense life. Partly because the opportunities to there are rare and hard-won,the library is cherished so much that everyone will cheer for the raining in the "library time" because it's the only excuse that can let us stay there for a longer time.
Actually, everyone's knowledge is like a circle, and the outside of the circle is the unknown world. The more one knows, the bigger the unknown world will be. Swimming in the sea of human wisdom makes me recognize my ignorance. Here, in the NUDT library, I feel like standing on the shoulders of giants, talking to masters and experts of all fields, who advocate and lead us to study in a calm mind and devote ourselves to knowledge. The library builds a platform for us to explore and innovate, opens a broad and professional vision for our futher.I am told that only when a person is not far away from the academics, not far away from reading, hard work or purposive innovation, will he have more self-confidence and ability to resist the temptations. I absolutely agree. The library is the very place to train such a person.
