allude 和 elude 的用法區別再一次告訴我們，若兩個單詞沒有共同的詞根，僅是拼寫很接近，基本上意思都是差很多的，例如：compliment 和 comlement，discreet 和 discrete 等等。
一、allude 作動詞，意為「間接提到；暗指；影射」，例如：
He alluded to problems with the new computers.
他暗指了新電腦的問題。
The judge did not mention his previous crimes specifically, but he alluded to them in his summary.
法官沒有具體提到他以前的罪行，但他在摘要中提到了這些罪行。
She also alluded to her rival's past marital troubles.
她還影射了對手過去的婚姻問題。
二、elude 作動詞
1、意為「避開，逃避，躲避」，例如：
They eluded the police by fleeing.
他們逃離警察。
The two men managed to elude the police for six weeks.
這兩個男人想方設法逃避警方追捕達六個星期。
The bear that had eluded capture for so long was caught at last.
躲過了那麼久的那隻熊終於被抓住了。
2、意為「使達不到，使不記得，使不理解」，例如：
The gold medal continues to elude her.
她仍然得不到金牌。
They had minor breakthroughs but real success eluded them.
他們有一些小的突破，但沒有真正的成功。
I know who you mean but her name eludes me.
我知道你的意思，但我記不起她的名字。
