Mum is complaining about me not putting things that happened in the week inside my writings. But since there aren't many interesting things happening in this week, I』ll just write some highlights of my week.
On Thursday, when I finished having my 5-hour zoom lessons as usual, I ate my lunch quickly and started preparing things. It was because I』ll check my eyes with my friend Alvin, and Alvin’s mum will bring us there(Generally I’m the one who brought THEM there. They didn’t know how to go there).
As usual, mum called me to bring my iPhone 7 plus (Actually I don’t think I own it) to there.
We arrived there at 15:30. They called me to check my eyes immediately. I was not as nervous as Alvin because I went to check my eyes in here before, and the eyeglass I’m wearing was purchased in here too. First, they brought me in front of some kind of machine and called me to look at the balloon inside. They could check my eyes in that way. And what I do care was that before they called me to look at a house, not a balloon.
And then they called me to look at some green light. Then suddenly some wind blew in my eyes, and that made my head shake a bit. I’m sure Alvin would cry in this process because this is what he was nervous about.
I think the whole process was comfortable, real.
And then they called me to look in some light AGAIN, and they said that it was used to measure how long is my eye. But I don’t think that light would help them find out how long my eyes are.
Later on they called me to wait outside because that was just an initial checking.
When I went out I found out that Alvin didn’t even STARTED checking his eyes. So probably because I checked before so they let me check first.
Then they called me to do some 「serious」 checking. Don’t know why, but Alvin’s mum went to my room too. First, a doctor called me to wear my original eyeglass and see if I could read the lines on the glass. Basically it was just on top of me and the words reflected on the glass. I should』nt just look on top of me, but I don’t think that is acceptable and it would probably be qualified as 「cheating」.
Then they called me to wear some glasses and put some glasses on top to see if I could read it. After I passed all these they started to calculate how many diopters are in my eyes.
The man said that I grew 1 diopter in two years, which was totally normal and it 「represents」 that wearing glasses in their shop really works. And plus he said that if I checked my eyes last year my eyes wouldn’t have grown so much.
And then they called me to look at a paper and read out the words, and I answered all correctly even though I was wearing my old glasses.
And then he dropped something in my eyes and told me to sit outside for 15 minutes and he』ll call me later.
When we went back outside, Alvin’s mum found out that Alvin disappeared. Alvin was probably checking his eyes anyway, so Alvin’s mum went searching for him. And I sat down.
Then that man came out and said,「Ok ten minutes passed. We don’t need to care about your friend or your friend’s mum at the moment so let’s just continue checking haha.」
And then he wore some helmets which to me is suitable for some rescue workers because they have lights on top.
Then he put the light right in front of my eyes and started using a special glass to check my eyes. He said that it was used to check if my eyes are 「healthy」.
My eyes were a bit painful because the light was directly in front of me, and he started calling me to look left and look right.
He finished checking and said that my eyes were still 「healthy」 enough.
I went out and bumped into Alvin’s mum. We went to choose my frames for my eyeglass, and I chose one which was black but not blue that I was wearing.
After finishing all these complicated things, we went to Alvin to check out. He was about to do the thing that lights will shine directly in his eyes to check if his eyes are 「healthy」.
Alvin didn’t like me watching over him so he got very nervous. When the doctor who was checking his eyes said,「Look up!」 Alvin shook his HEAD up. She explained that you needed to look up using your EYES but not your HEAD.
And then when she called him to look LEFT, he shook his HEAD to RIGHT. So Alvin’s mum said,「Oooh let’s leave this room Alvin’s getting nervous in front of us and now he doesn't know where’s LEFT or RIGHT!!!」
So we waited Alvin to finish. And I did think Alvin sped up a little since we left the room anyway.
And then it was Alvin’s turn to choose the frames of his new eyeglass since his eyes increased 1.5 diopters in A year. Due to 「privacy」 and all, I won’t say how many diopters are his eyes now, and I won’t say mine, too.
Seems like Alvin had trouble choosing frames, so I started recommending some, but only it was pink or purple or red that was logically for girls.
I don’t think I was helping Alvin, so I started recommending some frames that look more like boys, but for old ones probably like grey ones.
Finally he chose one that looked exactly the same as the one now. Alvin’s mum paid and we went out. It was 18:15 already.
I wanted to ride the bus because the bus would arrive soon, but Alvin’s mum said that she will call an uber so that we could arrive home faster.
But I don’t think it would be faster anyway because it will have traffic jam. Somehow the bus would be the same because the bus would go to another faster road. And so I don’t really approve of spending an extra 100 dollars just to be 10 minutes faster.
So this was simply Thursday.
On Saturday, I had my astronomic lesson. It was a whole afternoon, and it was indeed interesting. I made a solar glass, and a telescope myself, and that was good stuff.
(This photo was taken when I went to Tai Mo Shan last year)
I don’t think there are many things to write on the topic, so imma stop here.
Today(Sunday), mum and I TOTALLY didn’t have any plans, because mum didn’t want to go outside in this cold weather.
But actually I don’t think it was that cold anyway. It was 10-14 degrees.
So I planned to ride the 「family car」 again in Tai Mei Tuk. It was a four wheel bike and three people could ride it.
Mum thought that was a good idea indeed, so we contacted Alvin’s mum to see if Alvin has time. But unfortunately Alvin’s mum said that Alvin still needed to do something so he could only go out after eating lunch.
I was pretty bummed since I don’t want to wait till afternoon. It would be too late. But then mum said that we could go to Shatin to ride, which was a very very lame idea when it is a thousand times more expensive than Tai Mei Tuk.
But mum called me to wait so I played my piano and did a lot of other things.
So at 13:30, we met each other and started walking to Shatin.
We arrived at Shatin half an hour later, AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS NO 「FAMILY CARS」 FOR RENT ANYMORE. THERE ONLY HAVE TWO AND IT WAS RENTED ALREADY.
I went with the 「I told you so」 stuff with mum, and mum wasn’t in the mood to hear. She said that we would go to Tai Mei Tuk then.
So we rode the train to Tai Po Market and found the bus to Tai Mei Tuk. There were two buses and I wanted to ride the fast one since it would be twenty minutes faster than the other one.
But then mum saw the bus writing 「Tai Mei Tuk」 and hopped on. She told me to ride but I didn't want to because this was exactly the slow one.
Mum said that we were wasting time, so I hopped on to. Then I checked that the faster bus will depart 1 minute later, so I told mum. Mum said that it was just the same but I told her it was 20 minutes faster.
I’m pretty sure she was very shocked, but we couldn’t ride that fast bus because we already paid the fare.
I hope mum could learn a lesson from this: Don’t rush or you』ll regret it.
We arrived there 35 minutes later, and rented the 「family car」. It was 80 dollars a DAY, compared to Shatin’s 100 dollars an HOUR.
Me and Alvin would be at the back riding, and mum would be in front, and her job was sitting. A very easy job indeed, but not getting paid.
I would be the one who would be handling the steering wheel, which would be fun to me. This is the first time Alvin was trying to ride this, so he was very excited.
We slowly rode to the dam, and started riding through the dam. I wanted to fly a kite here because everyone was getting their kites, but since mum told us to go riding in Shatin we didn’t bring a kite.
The dam was very long because the reservoir on our left hand side was the biggest one in Hong Kong. And some of the water I drink comes from here too.
There were a lot of flies coming, and there were all over my jackets and masks. This 「incident」 caused me to change my mask.
When we arrived at the end of the dam, I dropped off mum and Alvin. Right after the moment they dropped off, I started riding the whole car myself, and it was fun.
Alvin was a bit angry because I was driving the car myself and he couldn’t try to drive it.
So he sat on the driver’s seat and I sat besides him. When we started, mum started videotaping. And then Alvin turned back, not looking in front and there was a big gap in front of us. So I said,「HEY HEY HEY」 and I helped him driving instead.
20 seconds later he got tired and thought that being a driver was boring. Mum said that there were too many flies so we should go back and ride to another place.
When we arrive back to the start of the dam, a lot of ambulances (5 cars) went into the dam. So probably someone fell when they were climbing the hill behind.
Speaking of that hill, it was very hard and a lot of people died after climbing that hill.
Soon after, Alvin was hungry, so he and mum bought some snacks like fish balls, Siu Mai and some biscuits.
We continued riding and gave the car back to the bike shop. We rode the bus back home and called takeaways.
Alvin ordered the same meal as me, but the only difference was that he got an extra boiled egg.
He didn’t actually open a boiled egg before, which was very ridiculous. Mum called him to open it by himself, but he opened it like the way we opened it as a raw egg!
The whole egg fell down so of course that egg wasn’t edible anymore.
We finished our dinner and Alvin went back home. This is the end of Sunday, and I’m of course happy.
Anyway, this is the end of this writing too, I suppose.
