From time to time
時不時
這個短語表達的就是有時候，偶爾的意思。和once in a while 意思一樣。
e.g. I still think of him from time to time.
我偶爾還會想起他。
For the time being
暫時， 眼下，目前
這個短語常用來暗示目前的情況只是暫時的，不會持續很久。
e.g. He still have a temperature so he should stay in bed for the time being.
他還在發燒，所以暫時他還要在床上躺著。
Against time/ the clock
爭分奪秒地，搶時間地
這個短語一般用作副詞，放在動詞後面。 常用的是work against time 或者race against time 指與時間賽跑。
e.g. The report is due tomorrow so she is racing against the time/the clock.
報告明天就要交，所以她現在在跟時間賽跑。
Ahead of time
在指定的時間之前，提前
Ahead of 是提前的意思。time 在這個短語裡面是用單數形式而且前面不加冠詞the。
e.g. The bus arrived 5 minutes ahead of time.
巴士提前5分鐘到了。
Behind time
在指定的時間之後，晚點
與ahead of time 的意思正好相反。 Behind 是落後的意思。 這個短語和ahead of time 一樣，其中的time 是用單數形式而且前面不加冠詞the。
e.g. The plane arrived 40 minutes behind time.
飛機晚點了40分鐘。

Behind the times
過時，跟不上時代/年代的
這個短語與上面的behind time 是不同的。Behind the times 其中的 times 指的是年代，時代。這個短語常用來形容跟不上時代、落伍。
e.g. I am really behind the times.
我真的落伍了。
On time
準時
On time 一般是指在指定的時間裡面準時到達，不早也不晚。 有時口語會加上right 來強調非常的準時-- right on time.
e.g. He always comes to the meeting on time.
他總是準時來開會。
e.g. The concert will start right on time, so we better hurry up!
演唱會會準時開始， 所以我們最好要快點！
In time
及時，及早
In time 常用的有兩種意思 ，一種是表示有足夠的時間。 另外一種指的是時機正好，常常會加上just 來強調。
e.g. I think we will be in time for the train.
我想我們來得及趕上火車。
e.g. Sam sent the report to me just in time, before I left for London.
Sam正好及時的把報告發給了我，在我出發去倫敦之前。
