「車牌號」英文可不是car number!那應該怎麼說?

昨天熊大想借皮卡丘的超跑去撩妹

可是在車庫找不到皮卡丘的坐騎

於是熊大飆出一句英文問：

what's your car number?

皮卡丘知道熊大是想知道「車牌號」，但表達錯誤啦，car number是車廂編號，地鐵和火車車廂都有Car No。其實「車牌」的英文表達，根本就沒有car。

"車牌號"地道英語怎麼說？

①license ['laɪsns] 【美】執照, 許可證

②licence ['laɪsəns] 【英】執照, 許可證

③plate [pleɪt] (印有文字或數字的)金屬牌; 車牌

根據上面的單詞，不難得出

車牌號= license plate number

①It's illegal to cover you license plate number when you're driving.

②I ordered a taxi with the license plate number AJ7098.

 我叫了輛出租，車牌號是AJ7098。

「駕照」地道英語怎麼說？

（類似買彩票這種隨機事件）

被限制的車牌號不得出行

車牌被限號別說成

My license plate number is limited（✘）

我的車牌數字是有限的（✘）

「限號」的「限」用這個詞

restrict：限制行動

I can't use my car because my license plate number is restricted today.

我的車今天被限號，不能用。
