anything but和nothing but是英語裡常用的短語，我們大概都記過：
anything but在句子中是「否定」的意思：單單除…之外;根本不
nothing but在句子中是「肯定」的意思：只有，僅僅
但當我們看到聽到具體的句子，有時候可能一時分不清楚，這是為什麼？
可能主要是因為短語裡的anything 和nothing剛好與短語的肯定和否定相反吧？
為什麼anything but不是「肯定」，nothing but不是「否定」？
關鍵在but這個我們極為熟悉的詞彙身上！
But除了我們熟悉的「但是」意思之外，也可以用在不定代詞all，everything，none, anything, nothing之後表示「除了…」：
He was all but lost in the city.
他幾乎在城裡迷路了。
It was all but impossible.
這幾乎是不可能的。
（all but是：幾乎，差一點）
