藝人以改名來改運這事兒，說來奇怪，有時還真有點兒靈，當然，也有越改越糟的。
出生於1943年，本名為Roland Kent LaVoit的Lobo (羅伯，西班牙語「灰狼」的意思)，從1961年起即陸續參加了幾個熱門樂團，但一直沒有什麼起色，直到1971年開始用Lobo這個藝名，星運忽而大開。
同年推出的《Me and You and a Dog Named Boo》一舉衝上了美國排行榜第五名，自此闖出了名號。
次年1972年又推出了《I'd Love You to Want Me》和《Don't Expect Me To Be Your Friend》，分別獲得第二及第八名，因此奠定了他在歌壇的地位。
《I'd Love You to Want Me》真的可以用「驚豔」來形容，如此好聽的鄉村搖滾風的情歌實屬不常見，值得回味再三。
