I didn't have a rich father. Tried three times for university and failed. I applied ten times for Harvard ,all failed, they didn't even want to see me. For the last time, I went to the teachers' college which was considered for the third or fourth class of my city.
I applied jobs, for thrity times, got rejected. It was so difficult at that time, I was so frustrated. Because I taught in the university, My payment was 10 dollars a month.
Because I could not find a good job, in 1994, discussed that I was going to do something called Internet, and 23 of them were against it. They said: This is a stupid idea. We've never heard about the Internet, and you know nothing about computer. And I never thought I was smart. Nobody believed I could be successful. Because everybody said: This guy think diffrently, think crazily. He will think about something that will never work.
I tried to borrow 3000 US dollars from the bank, it took me three months but I still could not get it. We talked to about 30-40 venture capitalists. Everybody said no, forget it.
Lots of people say that Alibaba is a terrile model. As I said :I believe it, I think this thing could be big. I never thought it could be this big like today.
I believed that something is waiting for me there and I have to work hard to prove myself. That was the tough experience. So we gathered 50000 US dollars from 18 founders. So we started.
Make enough mistakes, you fall, you stand up. Every mistake is an income, it's a wonderful revenue.

不要害怕犯錯，摔倒了再站起來。每次犯錯都是一筆進帳，都是一筆收益。
Don't worry about money. Money follows people. People should follow their dreams.
不要擔心錢。錢跟著人走，人應該跟著自己的夢想走。
I think nobody can conquer the world. We can only serve the world.
我覺得沒有人可以徵服世界。我們只能服務於世界。
Working for myself means working for the society. If you really want to work for yourself, think about others. Because only when other people are successful, when other people are happy. You will be successful, you will be happy.
為我自己工作意味著服務於社會。如果你真的想為自己工作的話，想一想其他人。因為只有其他人成功了，開心了，你才可以說是成功的，開心的。
