And the reason why it has become popular in the United States is that it has done well in localization.
很多美國人雖然聲稱喜歡吃中餐,但吃到真正的中餐時卻未必喜歡。
Although many Americans claim to like Chinese food, it might be the other way around when it comes to authentic Chinese food.
這就和國內的情況一樣,我們吃到的大部分泰國菜、東南亞菜、印度菜、西班牙菜、日本菜都是改良過的。
It is the same situation as in China. Most of the Thai food, Southeast Asian food, Indian food, Spanish food, and Japanese food we eat have been improved.
而這也就是為什麼程正昌說不會進入中國市場。
That’s why Andrew Cherng said they would never branch out into China.
因為他們覺得拼不過國內的中餐。
They think Panda Express is not able to outperform domestic Chinese food restaurants.
自己的優勢是做美國人喜歡的改良中餐,而不是做真正的中餐。
Their advantage lies in making improved Chinese food that American people like, rather than providing authentic Chinese food.
所以到國內來必然會砸鍋。
In China, their business will inevitably end in failure.
