第一位「Work for peanuts」，它並不是說為了花生而工作。而是說掙的錢很少。比如：I'd like to earn a lot of money，and I work for my boss now. Work for peasuts」。（我想掙更多的錢，現在為老闆工作，掙的錢杯水車薪）。
因為peanuts（花生）是一些又小又廉價的東西，所以work for peanuts是說掙的錢很少。
第二位"Paint the town red".先看一下這個句子，「Come on, come out with me tonight, let's paint the town red! 」它並不是說把這個真的要把小鎮漆成紅色，而是說要去狂歡作樂，玩的開心痛快。比如：Today is my daughter's birthday. She has gone out with her friends, I expect they will paint the town red!
第三位「sinking feeling」。意為「不祥的預感」，比如：I have a sinking feeling that I've lost all my money. （我有不祥的預感，我可能會損失掉所有的錢。）
第四位「get your hands dirty」。這裡可不是說讓你的手變髒哦！而是說實際參與到工作中，即使是那些可能不太有趣的部分，而不是置身事外看其他人工作。比如：If it's going to be a success, you must all get your hands dirty. （如果想要成功慶祝這個節目，你們所有人都必須參與進來，置身其中。）
第五位「chillax」.這個詞很有來頭，是「chill」（寒冷，發冷）和"relax"（放鬆）的合成詞。中文名曰：「淡定」。口語中運用很多，「Hey, guys, just chillax, everything will be ok.」（嘿，淡定，事情都會有所好轉的。）
