今天分享的繪本叫做《Up and Down》追尋夢想。小男孩和小企鵝是形影不離的好朋友，不管做什麼事都在一起，直到有一天，企鵝想要完成心中的夢想：展開翅膀在天空翱翔。

Once there were two friends...
從前有兩個很好的朋友......
and they always did everything together.
他們做什麼都喜歡在一起。
Until one day the penguin decided there was something important he wanted to do all by himself...
突然有一天企鵝決定他必須要自己完成一件事情......
...fly!
......那就是「飛」！
He did own wings after all,
他用盡全力拍打著自己的翅膀，
even if they didn't work very well.
可是卻沒能飛起來。
Although that didn't stop the penguin from trying.
企鵝一次次嘗試沒有放棄。
And trying.
再嘗試。
But nothing worked,and it wasn't long before he ran out of ideas.
但是在努力嘗試國多次沒有效果的時候，他決定尋求幫助。
The boy even offered him a go in his plane,but the engine hadn't recovered from its last flight.
小男孩想請他坐自己的飛機，可是上次飛行玩引擎還沒有保養。
And besides,it wasn't the same.
再說，這是不一樣的。
The penguin wanted to do this by himself.
企鵝更想靠自己來完成這件事。
After doing a bit of homework,it seemed as though the odds were against him.
在努力查找書籍後，好像不太可能。
So together the boy and the penguin decided it was time to ask for help...
因此男孩和企鵝決定一起去尋求幫助......
when something caught the penguin's eye and he knew this was his chance.
當企鵝碰巧看到馬戲團的「飛行炮彈」招募，他知道自己的機會來了。
In his excitement,he rushed off without a word.
他興奮地趕去報名，連句話也沒留。
The boy didn't know where he had gone.
男孩不知道企鵝去了哪裡。
The boy looked everywhere,and even thought he'd found his friend for a second.
男孩到處找，可是怎麼也找不到他的朋友。
Although none of these other penguins knew how to play his favourite game.
然而沒有一個企鵝會玩他最喜歡的遊戲。
Meanwhile,the penguin had found the right place and was hired on the spot.
與此同時，企鵝已經找對地方並立即被僱傭。
Soon he'd get to fly...
馬上就要飛行......
but suddenly,he realised he didn't know where his friend was or how to get home.
但是突然，他意識到自己不知道小男孩在哪裡，也不知道怎樣才能回家。
Later that night,the penguin couldn't help but miss his friend.
那天夜晚，企鵝情不自禁地思念小男孩。
Likewise,the boy could barely sleep for worrying about his friend.
同樣，小男孩也無法入睡，擔心著企鵝。
The next day,the boy tried to think of all the places the penguin would go,
第二天，小男孩想遍了所有企鵝可能去的地方，
when something caught his eye.
He didn't have much time.
當他的眼神被海報吸引時，小男孩意識到自己要抓緊時間了。
The penguin's big moment had come but somehow he wasn't so sure about flying anymore.
企鵝夢想的重大時刻終於到了，可是他卻不怎麼確定是不是還想飛了。
He wished the boy were there and even wondered if his friend had noticed he'd gone?
他希望小男孩在他身邊，想知道他有沒有發現自己已經走了。
But it was too late for thoughts like that.
但是一切都太晚了。
He took off like a bullet!
企鵝像子彈一樣飛了出去！
The boy rushed in hoping he could still catch his friend.
小男孩想盡各種方法來救企鵝。
The penguin couldn't believe how high and how fast he was flying,and he had no idea how he was going to land.
企鵝無法相信自己飛得那麼高那麼快，也不知道應該怎樣降落。
He was terrified and wished his friend was there to help him.
企鵝害怕極了，多希望這個時候小男孩能幫幫他。
The boy was there to catch him.
男孩伸手接住他。
The friends agreed that there was a reason why his wings didn't word very very well...
他們對於企鵝不能很好地完成飛行工作的原因意見一致。
because penguins don't like flying.
因為企鵝並不喜歡飛翔。
So together the two friends made a break for home...
於是，他們一起向家的方向走去......
to play their favourite game.
回家一起玩他們最喜歡的遊戲。
