秋天是收穫的季節，每每此時，人們臉上總是洋溢著一份沉甸甸的喜悅，在秋天你需要和孩子說的應季英文可太多了：豐收、樹葉變色、落葉、保暖.
秋分（autumnal equinox），是二十四節氣中的第十六個節氣，時間一般為每年的公曆9月22~23日。秋分這天太陽到達黃經180°（秋分點），幾乎直射地球赤道，全球各地晝夜等長（不考慮大氣對太陽光的折射與晨昏蒙影）北半球的秋天在9至11月，南半球的秋天在3至5月。
天文學中，秋天是指秋分（autumnal equinox）到冬至（winter solstice）的這段時間。
1. The Four Seasons 四季
Child: Mommy, it's cold outside, and there are lots of leaves on the ground.
孩子：媽媽，外面天氣好冷，地上還有一些樹葉。
Mom: Yes, that's because it's fall now.
媽媽：對呀，因為現在是秋天了嘛。
Summer is over, and it's almost winter.
夏天正要過去，冬天就要到來了。
Do you remember the four seasons? They are spring, summer, fall, and winter.
你還記得四季嗎？它們分別是春季、夏季、秋季和冬季。
2. Season of Harvest 收穫的季節
Mom: Fall is the time of year we harvest the crops.
媽媽：秋天是一年中收穫莊稼的季節。
Child: What does harvest mean?
孩子：收穫是什麼意思？
Mom: Harvest means we pick the food from the farmers' fields.
媽媽：收穫意味著我們可以從農民伯伯的地裡採摘食物。
Child: What kind of food?
孩子：什麼樣的食物呢？
Mom: Fruits like apples and pears, and vegetables like squash and pumpkins.
媽媽：水果像蘋果和梨啊，蔬菜像各種瓜和南瓜啊。

3. Leaves Changing Colors 樹葉變顏色
Child: I really like red leaves. Why do the leaves turn colors?
孩子：我很喜歡紅色的葉子。為什麼葉子會變色呢？
Mom: Because in spring and summer, the red, orange, and yellow colors are covered up by the dominant green.因為在春天和夏天，紅色、橙色和黃色被佔主導地位的綠色所覆蓋。
In fall, as the weather cools and shorter days settle in, the green fades away and reveals the other colors.
在秋天，隨著天氣變冷，白天變短，綠色逐漸褪去，呈現出其他顏色。
4. Falling Leaves 落葉
Mom: Then, the leaves fall off the tree.
媽媽：於是，樹葉就從樹上掉下來了。
Child: I like to jump in the leaves!
孩子：我喜歡在葉子上跳！
Mom: Yes, that's lots of fun. I liked it when I was your age too.
媽媽：嗯，那很有趣。我像你這麼大的時候也喜歡。
The street cleaners have to rake the leaves and make big piles to put into bags for the garbage truck to take away.
街道清潔人員不得不耙樹葉，堆成一大堆放進垃圾袋裡，讓垃圾車運走。
5. Change of Wardrobe 換季衣櫃
Child: I like fall, but I like summer better. It's warmer!
孩子：我喜歡秋天，但我更喜歡夏天。它是溫暖的!
Mom: Yes, now that it's getting cold outside we have to dress warmer.
嗯，外面越來越冷了，我們得穿得暖和些。
We can't wear shorts and dresses and sandals anymore.
我們不能再穿短褲、裙子和涼鞋了。
We have to wear our sweaters, pants and shoes with socks.
我們必須穿毛衣、褲子並且穿鞋子要配襪子。
When we go outside to play, remember to wear your coat and scarf.
當我們出去玩的時候，記得穿你的外套和圍巾。
Next season will be winter then spring and then it will be summer again.
下一個季節是冬天，然後是春天，然後就又是夏天了。
