在英文學習中，有些短語並不能直接根據字面意思來理解。想必大家也已經有了這個意識。
01.regular customer
常客，老顧客
Old是老的，customer是顧客，old customer表達的「老顧客」，是年紀大的顧客的意思。我們常說的「老顧客」其實是「常客」。常客應該用regular customer來表達。
例句
They know me - I'm a regular customer.
我是老主顧，他們都認識我。
This company is our regular customer.
這家公司是我們的老客戶。
02.one of a kind
獨一無二
Kind這個詞有很多解釋。在這裡，它的意思是：一個類別。一個人如果能成為一個領域的one of a kind，那也就是只此一家，獨一無二了。
例句
She's a very unusual woman, one of a kind.
她是個很不平常的女人，獨一無二。
My father was one of a kind - I'll never be like him.
我的父親很獨特，我決不會像他的。
03.top-notch
一流的；拔尖的
Top和notch以連字符相連，top-notch是指最出眾的人或其他東西。
例句
The peanuts they grow are top-notch.
他們種的花生是拔尖的。
It takes a lot of money to hire a top-notch man these days.
現在要僱用水平這麼高的人要花好多錢吶。
04.easy street
順境；安樂富足
Easy street是一個常用語，用來形容一個人有足夠的錢，生活得很舒適。Easy street這個說法出現在大約九十多年前。最初使用這個說法的是一位美國作家。他在一本小說中描寫了一個生意做的很好而變得非常富裕的年輕人。
例句
They have been living on easy street since his business began to prosper.
自從他的生意興隆以來，他們一直過著優裕的生活。
Now the money is rolling in and he's living on easy street.
現在，他的財源滾滾，生活得可消遙自在啦。
05.out on the street
沒有工作，難以維持生活
Out on the street剛好和easy street相反，它的意思是：一個人沒有工作，難以維持生活。
例句
He lost his job over a year ago when the company he worked for went bankrupt and he's been out on the street ever since.
一年多以前，他工作的那個公司破產了，他也就失了業。自那時起，他一直生活很艱苦。
It's up to you whether you want to live on easy street or to be out on the street in the future.
你將來是要生活的很舒服,還是難以維生,這全在於你自己了。
