In response to the calls proposed in Opinions on Further Promoting the 「Integrated Online Platform」 and Construction and Administration of Standardization of Government Affairs Service Center (Trial) (No.7〔2020〕of Shanghai Government) issued by Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the municipal reception window for Foreigner’s Work Permit in Shanghai currently at 77 Meiyuan Road will be transferred to 1525 West Zhongshan Road from January 1, 2021.
Specifically, the original windows 1-4 1F 77 Meiyuan Road work normally as before by December 31, 2020 (included) and then will be closed. The new window at Shanghai Municipal Sci-Tech Administrative Service Center has been in trial operation and will officially work from January 1, 2021 at windows 1-4 1F Jimao Plaza, 1525 West Zhongshan Road.

Online approval is acceptable regarding the procedures of foreigner’s work permit in Shanghai. The hotline and the single window for foreigner’s work permit and residence permit remain as before.
