簡單來說就，Adventure Time是一部在美國Cartoon Network電視臺放送的動畫，目前第六季完結。一般翻譯作「探險活寶」或者「探險時光」，臺灣地區有引進。總的來說，是一部看似脫線，其實到處都是伏筆的世界觀很宏大的動畫。雖然作品未明確提及，但根據作者表示，故事發生在一個「蘑菇雲戰爭之後人類滅絕，魔法回歸的世界」。

作者潘得頓·沃德表示該節目的風格受到他在加州藝術學院的求學過程及作為阿嗨大冒險（英語：The Marvelous Misadventure of Flapjack）分鏡師經歷的影響。他解釋他試著呈現如宮崎駿電影龍貓中「美麗」的時刻，並結合顛覆性的幽默元素。沃德形容這系列是一部「黑色喜劇」，並言「我想黑色喜劇是我的最愛，因為我愛那種感覺同時既快樂又驚恐。這是我最愛的感受方式,當我非常焦慮但我卻快樂，而這部戲中包含很多那種情緒衝突的感覺。」
