尊敬的各位來賓,親愛的同學們,畢業班的同學們,各位家長,老師和同事,女士們,先生們,晚上好!歡迎參加亞加達國際預科第三屆畢業典禮! 在此祝賀2016年畢業班的同學們!
Present today at the ceremony are our special guests, Professor Alex Buriel from IE University, Spain. He will deliver a keynote speech; Ms. Liu Xiaozhen, the mother of our graduating student Zhang Jun, who will speak on behalf of the parents. Also present at the ceremony are Mr. James Qin, Chairman of the Board of Alcanta Education Group; Mr. Victor Huang,the Party Secretary, Board Member of Alcanta Education Group, Mr. Alex Ho , CEO of Fit Network Technology Co., Board Member of Alcanta Education Group, Let’s welcome them.

I am pleased and honored to share with you this special day. Graduating Class of 2016 has achieved new heights in their university applications. They have been offered a place from the university of their choice. 63% of them have been offered a place at one of the top 50 universities listed by QS World University Rankings 2016, an increase of almost 10% over last year’s figure. On top of this, scholarship application results are impressive. Scholarships are awarded not only to those who applied, but also to those who didn’t. Nine graduating students who did not apply are awarded scholarship of up to 100% tuition for their academic excellence.
我很高興也很榮幸與你們共享今天這一特別的日子。2016屆畢業班的同學們在大學申請方面收穫了累累碩果,創AIC畢業生大學錄取結果的新高。畢業班的學生中,有63%的人獲得QS 2016全球大學排名前50的大學錄取通知書,這比與去年同比增長了近10%。同樣值得慶祝的是,我們大學獎學金申請結果也可喜可賀。不僅提出獎學金申請者獲得大學的獎學金,而且未提出申請的學生也因其優越的學習成績而獲得大學的獎學金。目前共有9名畢業生沒有提出申請,但獲得了獎學金,最高額度達學費的100%。

The IB education at AIC seeks to develop in students the attributes that are listed in the IB Learner Profile and aims to prepare students to become life-long learners, and global citizens.

Technological advances have changed our world faster than we could imagine. Futurist Thomas Frey says that the world of work is going to turn upside down as 2 billion jobs -- half of all employment on the planet today -- will be gone by 2030. New jobs will be created; In addition to technological advances, human-induced global warming has brought about environmental and social changes leading to unforeseen consequences. We find ourselves experiencing extreme weather more frequently than before. The future world is changing, challenging and uncertain. How do we prepare students for a world that probably does not exist? Preparing students to become life-long learners and empowering them to be life-long learners is how our education at AIC prepares students for the future world. I felt proud when I read comments made by one of our alumni about how IB helped her tackle a difficult situation where people are concerned about looking smart and not making mistakes. She followed suit, trying to avoid doing things that she might not be good at, and eventually that mentality stopped her from achieving her potential. She said 「I recalled the values I had learned in the IB programme. I came to the realization that success was not about looking smart in front of others, it was about stretching myself to learn something new and confronting my own mistakes and learning from them. IB taught me to be a life-long learner and to maintain a learning oriented mindset in a competitive environment」. That is a minor, but typical example of how our education at AIC has prepared students to become life-long learners.
科學技術的進步正以超出我們想像的速度改變著我們的世界。未來學家託馬斯·弗雷說道,未來的工作將會發生翻天覆地的變化,因為將近一半,即近20億的工作崗位將會在2030年前消失。新的工作機會也將悄然誕生。人類生活所引起的全球變暖已經引發了環境和社會變化,其後果難以預料。我們比從前更頻繁地經歷著一些極端的天氣,未來的世界變得充滿變數、挑戰和不確定性。 面對這樣一個未來世界,我們該如何讓我們的學生做到有備而來呢?培養學生,使他們成為終身學習者;賦予學生學習能力,使他們終身學習。這是亞加達國際預科的IB教育幫助學生面對未來的重要使命,我們為此不遺餘力。最近我讀到我們的一個校友發給學校的信,談到IB教育對她的幫助。她現在身處一個競爭壓力非常大的學習環境中,每個人都特別刻意地表現出機智聰明,謹慎完美,毫無紕漏。於是她漸漸受到影響,變得小心翼翼,儘量避開容易犯錯或者容易導致失敗的行為。可是這樣的思維模式使她的潛能無法充分發揮。於是,她想到了IB, 回想起在IB課程學習中所倡導的那些學習者素質。她說「 我意識到成功並非在人前表現得聰明過人,而在於不斷努力學習新知識,即使失敗,也能勇於面對自己的錯誤,並從錯誤中學習、完善自我。IB課程教我成長為一名終身學習者,即使在一個充滿競爭的社會也依然保持一顆願意學習的心。 」 得知IB教育能夠幫助她走出一個現實困境時,我為我們的教育感到驕傲。這僅是一個很小卻很典型的例子,說明我們的教育如何幫助我們的學生成為不斷學習與進取的終身學習者。
Technological advances in modern information, communications and transportation have transformed the world into a global village, and at the same time strengthened our ability to connect to the rest of the world — through the Internet; through participation in the global economy; through engagement in international cooperation on all levels;and through the ease with which we can travel and visit other parts of the world. As a result, we have become global citizens in a global community before we realize it. And we recognize that events happening in the far end of the world away from our country can actually have a real impact on our life; we understand that 「other people, with their differences, can also be right」; We uphold the values of the global community: environmental protection, gender equity, sustainable growth, poverty alleviation, humanitarian assistance and preservation of cultural diversity.
現代信息、交流以及交通等領域的技術進步改變了世界,使這個世界變成了地球村。同時,技術的進步加強了我們與世界各地連接的能力:通過網際網路實現了與世界的連接;通過參與全球經濟發展實現了與世界的連接;通過參與全球多層次的國際合作實現了與世界的連接;通過便捷的全球旅行實現了與世界的連接。沒等我們回過神來,我們已經成為全球社區的世界公民。我們認識到,即使發生在我們國家之外很遙遠地區的事件,也會對我們的生活產生實際影響;我們懂得了「他人的觀點,即使與我們的不同,也依然可能是正確的。」 我們弘揚全球化社區所共享的價值觀,這包括倡導環境保護,支持男女平等,推進可持續性發展,消除貧困,響應人道主義援助以及保護文化的多樣性。
At AIC, global citizenship is developed and cultivated. Students are engaged in CAS, MUN, ASDAN, cultural events and activities that address local and global issues that matter. At the same time, local and international students are offered opportunities to live and study together and learn from each other, and they find that they have to be tolerant and respectful of other people’s cultures. Students are encouraged to think critically and creatively. We believe that we have an active role to play in contributing to the global community to make the world a better place for all of us. We fulfil our role by thinking globally and acting locally.
在亞加達國際預科,世界公民的意識得到培養與發展。同學們投身於創造、行動和服務的CAS課外活動,參加模擬聯合國活動,參加由ASDAN(英國素質教育發展認證中心)舉辦的商業模擬大賽,以及參加和組織事關當地乃至全球的活動。同時,國內學生與國際學生有機會一起學習和生活,為互相學習和相互了解提供了平臺。他們認識到自己必須要有寬容開放的心胸,並要尊重他國的文化才能和睦相處,需要批判性和創造性的思維來解決問題。我們相信,在為全球化社區積極做出貢獻的過程中,我們每一個人都可以扮演積極的角色,讓世界變得更美好。我們通過全球化思考,本土化行動,來履行世界公民的責任。
Graduating Class of 2016, I congratulate you for having successfully completed this demanding and holistic educational programme. Your achievements have set the benchmark for aspirations of students in lower grades. They look up to you as a role model. As you graduate, you will bring to the global community the values that you have developed over the years at AIC: recognition of universal human values, development of active and compassionate life-long learners, cultivation of global citizenship, care and personal responsibility through service to others, creation of a better world through intercultural understanding and respect, accommodation of diversity and respect for differences. As you graduate, we hope that you are able to respond well to the challenges lying ahead. As you graduate, we hope, just as the learning community at AIC has served you well, you go and serve the community that you call your new home. To quote Jim Rohn, 「help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better」. Let us live, and help others to live, grow and help others to grow.
2016屆的畢業班同學們,我祝賀你們圓滿地完成了具有挑戰性的全人教育課程。你們的成功為低年級的學弟學妹樹立了努力的目標。他們會以你們為榜樣。在你們畢業之際,你們將把通過這些年在亞加達國際預科學習所形成的價值觀帶出去,融入到國際化社區中去。這些價值包含了認同人類普世價值,做積極的、富有同情心的終身學習者和世界公民,通過服務他人表現出愛心與責任,通過跨文化間的理解與尊重創造更美好的世界,對多元化的包容,對差異化的尊重等等。在你們畢業之際,我希望你們能很好地應對前方的挑戰。在你們畢業之際,我希望你們能像亞加達國際預科服務你們那樣去服務你們的新社區,新家園。 在此我引用吉姆·羅恩的一句話:「讓弱者變強,讓強者更強。」 人生路上,要照顧自己,但不要忘記拉人一把;成長途中,要力求上進,但不要忘記助人一臂。
