Hello everyone! Today we are here in Hainan University with Shakil who is from Pakistan. Shakil, can you tell us why you came to study in Hainan University?
今天我們邀請到了來自巴基斯坦的留學生Shakil！Shakil，是什麼讓你決定來海南留學呢？
Actually, I applied for three universities in China including Hainan University. When I learned that I got an offer from Hainan University, I was so glad and I think I'm so lucky to be a student of Hainan university.
來海南之前，我一共申請了三所中國的學校，其中就包括海南大學。後來當我得知自己被海南大學錄取的時候，我很開心。能成為海南大學的學生，我覺得是一件非常幸運的事情。
Can you talk about your study and life in Hainan?
你在海南的學習生活是什麼樣的呢？
I think life in China is very convenient. For students, I think Hainan University is the best place to study, because the labs and facilities here are very advanced and the teachers are very kind. Everything here is excellent for international students to study.
首先我覺得在中國生活非常便利。對於我們學生來說，我認為海南大學是讀書學習的最佳選擇，因為這裡有完善的教學設施、實驗室，老師們也都很友善。所有這一切都有助於學生在這裡學習。

Can you tell us about the visa application process of studying in Hainan universities for international students?
如果要來海南學習的話，籤證方面需要做哪些工作呢？需要經過什麼樣的流程呢？
First of all, you should apply for a Chinese university and if you are admitted, you need to fill a form of the visa application. It might take several days to get your student visa.
首先，你需要申請中國的大學。當你被學校錄取，就會收到一封錄取通知書，然後再填寫一份申請學生籤證的資料，大概一段時間之後，你就能收到自己的學生籤證了。
What is your doctoral major in the university?
能說一下你的博士專業是什麼嗎？
My PhD major is Agriculture and Plant Protection. I study plants and insects.
我的博士專業是農業與植物保護，主要研究植物學和昆蟲。

在未來，你是否會用自己所學的專業，為海南的環保事業貢獻一份力量呢？
Yes, of course. Firstly, food is necessary to humans and agriculture plays an important role in our lives. Nowadays, countries around the world pay great attention to environmental protection. I think I can try to make contribution to this field in Hainan in the future.
當然會。首先，民以食為天，其次農業是我們生產生活中非常重要的一個產業。此外，現在全球各個國家都非常注重植物和環境的保護，倡導愛護花草樹木和我們賴以生存的自然環境。我很願意用所學的知識，為海南的環保事業貢獻一份力量。
So what is your plan when you finish your studies in Hainan University?
畢業之後你有什麼樣的計劃呢？
After graduation, I have a plan to start my own company in Hainan. Because I think Hainan is very famous for its business community. Due to the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, people from all over the world start to focus on Hainan and I believe Hainan will become better and better.
拿到博士學位之後，我想在海南創業，開一家自己的公司。因為海南有優越的商業環境，尤其是自貿港建設以來，全世界越來越多的國家都把目光聚焦於海南，海南的未來潛力無限。
I’m waiting for you in Hainan Free Trade Port. Maybe you are far away from here, but if you want to study in a dream school and have a bright future, Hainan will be your best choice!
