A MAN, NAMED Ma Chonghua, killed two women who were mentally ill and sold their bodies for 「ghost marriage」 in 2016. Ghost marriage, or yinhun, is a marriage in which at least one of the partners is deceased.
名為馬崇華的男子，在2016年殺死了兩名身患精神疾病的女子，然後兜售她們的屍體配「陰婚」。所謂陰婚，也稱「冥婚」，就是給已經去世的人尋找配偶結婚。

根據中國某些偏遠落後地區的習俗，單身男子死後沒有下葬祖墳的資格，只有與死亡的單身女子配陰婚才能進祖墳。而單身女子死亡後則不能入葬娘家，所以為了讓死去的女兒有墓地埋葬，不少人家會主動選擇售賣屍體。
Traditionally, it was seen as a way for people to look after each other in the afterlife. On April 2, 2016, Ma abducted 45-year-old Liu, one of the victims and a villager in Qingyang, by posing as a matchmaker, according to the announcement by the court.
在傳統習俗中，這樣可以讓死者可以有一個相互依靠的陪伴。根據法院的判決，馬崇華以說媒為由，綁架了甘肅慶陽市的一名45歲劉姓女子，也就是後來的受害者。
He also spent 2,000 yuan as a bride price to lure the woman. On the same day, he took the woman to an abandoned cave dwelling. He later injected Liu with multiple doses of promethazine hydrochloride, a sedative, which caused Liu’s death.
為了誘騙這名女子，他還花了2000塊的彩禮錢。就在同一天，他將這名女子帶往一個廢棄的窯洞。在那裡，馬崇華多次給她注射鎮定劑鹽酸異丙嗪，致其死亡。

Ma then hired a driver to transport Liu’s body to Shenmu county in Northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, where he sold the body to a local villager for a ghost marriage, for which he was paid 35,000 yuan ($5,259).
隨後，馬崇華僱傭了一名司機將該女子的屍首，運往中國西北部山西省的神木縣，並將其兜售給一名當地村民，獲利3.5萬元人民幣（合計5259美元）。
After that, Ma went to another village in Gansu where he abducted 51-year-old An with the help of two locals. Ma killed An Furong by injecting her with chlorpromazine hydrochloride, and planned to sell her body to a villager in Yulin, Shaanxi for 42,000 yuan.
事成之後，馬崇華如法炮製，前往甘肅的另一個縣，與2名當地村民合謀綁架了51歲的安姓女子，並注射鹽酸氯丙嗪將其殺死。安姓女子的屍首，被以4.2萬元人民幣（合計6514美元）的價格，賣給了陝西省榆林市的村民。

鹽酸氯丙嗪，對中樞神經系統，小劑量有安定作用，大劑量連續使用有抗精神病作用，本品抑制丘腦下體溫調節中樞，使體溫隨環境溫度升降，配合其他藥物，使體溫降至正常體溫之下，代謝降低，稱人工冬眠。主要用於抗精神病、加強催眠劑、麻醉劑、鎮痛劑及抗驚厥劑的作用。
Ma was seized by the police on April 13 when he tried to transport the body to Yulin. Ma was sentenced to five years in prison for trafficking women in 2012, but he showed no signs of repentance after his release from prison.
在4月13日，馬崇華在轉運安姓女子屍首時被交警查獲。據悉，馬崇華早在2012年就因拐賣婦女罪被判刑入獄5年，但他出獄之後顯然不思悔改。
Police in Shaanxi announced in August that Ma and another two suspects in the case, were to be prosecuted for abducting and trafficking women, intentional homicide, and concealing murder.
同年8月份，陝西警方通報，馬崇華及其2名同夥被指控犯有拐賣婦女罪、故意謀殺罪和隱匿殺人證據罪。
Both the victims were mentally ill, according to the court. The Qingyang Intermediate People's Court sentenced Ma to death for intentional homicide on July 1, 2019, depriving him of political rights for life.
根據法庭的判決書，2名受害者皆患有精神疾病。直到2019年7月1日，慶陽市中級法院以故意殺人罪判處馬崇華死刑，剝奪政治權利終身。
Ma later appealed against the sentence but the High People’s Court of Gansu upheld the original verdict. The verdict was later approved by the Supreme People's Court of China, due to Ma’s despicable motives and the serious consequences, the court said.
馬崇華不服判決提起上訴，最終甘肅省高級人民法院宣布維持原判。鑑於犯罪動機卑劣，情節、後果特別嚴重，社會危害極大，經最高人民法院核准，馬崇華於2021年2月8日被執行死刑。
This is not the first time a ghost marriage has hit the headlines in China. In 2019, the in-laws of a woman in Shandong province, who died of being abused after infertility by her husband's family.
這不是陰婚第一次登上中國的新聞頭條。在2019年，一名山東女子因不孕不育而被婆家虐待致死。
The woman's parents blocked the body from being cremated and said a ghost marriage had been arranged. Another man from the Nei Monggol Autonomous Region sold "female bones" after poisoning his niece.
該女子的父母阻攔了屍體火化，並表示安排了配陰婚。另一名內蒙古男子則在毒害外甥女後，售賣「女骨」。
政法委評配陰婚陋習
一個個殘酷案件的背後，是一群死不由己的女人。而這些看似獨立的悲劇卻呈現出兩個共同的「魅影」——根深蒂固的性別歧視和害人不淺的封建流毒。女性，憑什麼要做「工具人」？親人離散的痛，難道是一場作惡的「陰婚」就能安撫的嗎？這是與當前文明法治社會要求格格不入，甚至大相逕庭的。配「陰婚」，作為現代文明社會的一大恥辱，一次次挑戰著公序良俗和法律底線。是可忍，孰不可忍？別再披著「傳統」的遮羞布，行封建迷信、壓榨女性之實！
「陰婚」可惡可怖，但沒有需求，何來買賣？陽光之下，有條不為人知的腐臭產業鏈在運作：有人專門從事對女屍的盜掘；有人自封「鬼媒人」；有人不惜跨省倒賣屍體從中賺取鈔票；有人還把殘忍的目光投向了在世活人……在冰冷的經濟利益驅使下，「陰婚」產業甚至出現了通「屍」膨脹，一項調查研究稱：15萬元以下，你連根骨頭都買不到。
