Prior to joining NYUShanghai, Non Arkaraprasertkul was Teaching Fellow in anthropology and SouthAsian studies, at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Akaraprasertkulhas master's degrees in history, theory, criticism of architecture, andarchitecture and urban design from MIT, and Modern Chinese Studies from theUniversity of Oxford. He is currentlycompleting his doctoral research: "LocatingShanghai: Globalization, Heritage Industry, and the Political Economy of UrbanSpace."
The American Culture Center promotes understanding between China and the UnitedStates by creating opportunities for students and scholars to meet, exchangeideas and learn from each other. We sponsor concerts, exhibits, lectures,and short residencies as well as programs of cultural exchange and conversationat our home on the campus of the University of Shanghai for Science &Technology.
