亞馬遜近日發布了【一生要讀的一百本書】。所列書目從1813年的《傲慢與偏見》到1925年的《了不起的蓋茨比》，再到2013年的《生命不息》(Life after Life)，跨越了兩百年的文學時間。
網站編輯總監Sara Nelson接受了不少採訪，聽下來，印象最深的是：這是一份人工列出的推薦清單，沒有用到點擊率分析等技術手段，希望選的書有代表性，能引領讀者通往更多的書。
仔細看這份清單會發現，它最大的亮點在可讀性，比如裡面有《廚房機密》，有《天生就會跑》，還有《飢餓遊戲》《黃金羅盤》;比如毛姆的書，選了《人性的枷鎖》而不是《月亮和六便士》;比如沒有莎士比亞但有大衛·伊格斯、安·帕切特、尤金尼德斯……它肯定不是一份西方正典清單，但它更接近閱讀本身，接近風土人情。(書單中有中文版且認知度比較高的直接用了中文名，其他則直接採用英文書名和作者名以便檢索。)
