CCTV's Spring Festival Gala / CCTV New Year's Gala, gala意指「歡快的慶祝活動」。單純說春晚可以用Spring Festival Gala或者Chinese New Year Gala表達。另外,gala也可以用作形容詞,表示"慶祝的,奢侈的",如 a gala ball 慶祝舞會;the gala life of the rich 富翁們的奢侈生活。
Each year the Spring Festival Gala hopes to incorporate new ideas and surprise people.
例如,在Wikipedia(維基百科)中:
cross talk這個詞組能在《牛津詞典》裡查到,解釋為:rapid dialogue, eg between two comedians(快速對話,比如在兩個喜劇演員之間),也有英文媒體翻譯成stand-up comedy。
acrobatics和aerobics(有氧健身操)很容易被混淆。
例:a piano solo鋼琴獨奏;a guitar solo吉他獨奏;sing a solo個人獨唱。
Peking Opera
Kunqu Opera
Yue Opera
Huangmei Opera

The Spring Festival Disco performed by William Chan, Zhang Yixing and Dong Baoshi was a blast.

Go Wuhan! Go China!
CMG anchors Bai Yansong, Kang Hui, Shui Junyi, He Hongmei, Hai Xia and Ouyang Xiadan paid tribute to the medical professionals battling the coronavirus in a special new section called "The Bridge of Love."

Acrobatic show 'Blossom'
The acrobatic and magic shows always enjoy large viewership during the annual festival gala. This year, performers from Xi'an City in northwest China's Shaanxi Province and south China's Guangdong Province brought their acrobatic show "Blossom."

'Song of the Morning Light'
The dance performance of "Song of the Morning Light" by girls dressed in smoke-gray cheongsam wowed the audience with its traditional oriental flavor and use of props.
"Song of the Morning Light" originated from a dance segment of the original dance drama "The Eternal Wave." "Song of the Fishermen" shows the life of Shanghai women.
With its breathtaking stage design, the dance acts as a window into the beauty of Shanghai.
'Wandering Earth'
The theme song of last year's blockbuster "The Wandering Earth" was also brought to the stage of the 2020 Spring Festival Gala. Renowned Chinese singer Liu Huan, who is also the composer of the song, performed alongside child singer Zheng Chuxin.
To match the song, the stage was also changed into a "universe," thanks to technological creations. Featuring the new tech such as 5G and 8K resolution, the gala brought a new visual experience to the audience.
Segments from sub-venues in Zhengzhou and the Greater Bay Area were pre-recorded due to the coronavirus outbreak, but the main venue in Beijing remained jubilant.
