Hello, teachers, classmates, the topic of my speech is It's Better to Give Than to Receive.
We all want to get help and care, which is what we will have as a social person. Why is giving better than receiving?
In the New Testament, there is a saying: "it is more blessed to give than to receive." German psychiatrist Fromm also said: "love is essentially to give rather than to get." Taiwan writer Lin Wenyue said: "it's not easy for a person to accept the love of others. Giving and receiving also need a broad mind."
Love is giving, which is not charity and grace, but selfless and utilitarian. To accept love, this kind of acceptance is not to be at ease, but to be grateful.
You share rose get fun. Giving is the process of passing love, while accepting is the process of accepting love and being willing to continue to pass love. Under the same blue sky, we need to give and accept. It's not easy to give love, care and trust, and don't be afraid to give, let alone to accept. It's not easy for a person to be willing to give or accept others' love, because "giving and receiving both need a broad mind.".
It takes a big heart to accept. You should know how to be grateful and how to repay. Accepting the love of others is destined to shoulder heavy expectations. Acceptance is not a simple act, nor is it taking advantage in vain. Accepting calmly should be an unspoken commitment, which needs a broad mind.
One aspect of what human evolutes better than other animals is understanding of unity and cooperation. The basic requirement of unity and cooperation is mutual help. China is a human society, which is reflected in daily communication. Whether in work, life or study, it is inseparable from the giving and receiving between people. Giving more, also can harvest respect and an open-minded, broad heart.
Thank you. That's all for my speech.
Good morning,ladies and gentlemen,
I’m very honor to stand here to give you a speech.Today,my topic is 「It is better to give than to receive」.
Yesterday i learned the meaning of the two words by looking up the dictionary. 「Receive」 means getting something form somebody, this is passive act; 「Give」 means to let someone have something as a present or provide something for someone, this is an active and voluntary act.
In our lives,we often act as receivers, we got money from our parents,we accepted the gifts from our friends,we receive awards from competitions. From there,we gain happy and satisfied.I used to believe nothing is happier than receiving till i met my neighbor’s daughter whom prepared the College entrance examination.
In the last summer vacation,i sent my study books to her and taught some tips of study. This winter i went home, she told me gratefully, she said 「Your books are very useful, they help me a lot. 」 At that moment,i was happy than ever, but i don’t know why, i never think my small act can influence her .A few days later,i found the reason. Mark Twain said 「Ding more good things without rewards can make our lives more decent and valuable. 」This is my answer.
In recent days,i played a game which is named 「Plants vs. Zombies」.The plants attracted me,especially the nut, they always sacrifice themselves to protect the homeland. The game like the world, the zombies like receivers, they are taking away from the world, the plants are givers, they help each other and create value to social. As a student,we are not only serve as a receiver but also act as a giver. By helping others,we can strength our happiness and take a positive attitude to our life,it will make our life more colorful. We don’t need to donate many money to charity like celebrates,we can talk with old people,we can share our books,we can help friends when they are in trouble. If everyone were giver, the world would be prosperous and happy.
「Gifts of rose, hand left lingering fragrance.」when we have the virtue of giving, our life will be happy. Therefore, it is better to give than to receive.
That’s all, thank you for your listening!
As we all know "Give a rose ,the hand has lingering fragrance.",giving is a kind of happiness to share with others. In life, we always like the people around us can give yourself some care, always constantly ask for parents, ask them to give some more considerate, hope friends give us some understanding, hope teachers can give us some more encouragement .However, have we ever thought that others need our efforts as well? In fact, when we can give to the people around us, you will feel that giving is far more happy than receiving.
Throughout history, there are many examples of giving. When the famous calligrapher Wang Xizhi saw an old woman selling bamboo fans in the street, he felt sorry for her. He put aside his thought that he would not write to others easily and inscribed for the old woman's bamboo fan. When the people found out, they tried to buy bamboo fans from the old woman, and all of them were sold out,The old woman who waited for the rice was very happy for this. It was this giving that added a lot of color to the old woman's life. Of course, there are many modern examples of giving. As a crew member, Li Suli gave endless care and help to passengers, thought for others and brought convenience to others, thus winning the title of 'model worker' and praise from others. We can give help and warmth to others in our own ability, as they do, which is happy for those who receive help.
In this world, some people are silently giving, giving help, but there are still some people, or a very few people, in the desperate desire for others to help, and excessive desire to become a demand, showing the greed of the heart. Aesop said, "Some people, because of greed, want more things, but now have also lost." Visible, obtain after the heart of greed, is how terrible. We in industrial agriculture society period, for example, when we in order to develop, unlimited to natural intake resources, we don't pay attention to ecological protection, deforestation emissions, also did not take corresponding measures to stop, in the end, from the revenge of nature, I think this is what we call for the harm.
Ladies and gentlemen,
It's another talking time now, let's get to the point."The hand of the gift rose has a lingering fragrance." It is a British proverb, meaning a very ordinary and tiny thing, even if it is as insignificant as a gift of a rose, but it will bring warmth in the heart of the giver and the recipient slowly rising, diffuse, cover. In life, we all should do like this. And that's why the article is talking about "It is better to give than to receive"here.
There are two ways to communicate with people: one is to give, the other is to accept. Many people often wait to accept when they associate with others, but they don't think about it. In fact, giving is more enjoyable than receiving. The happiness of acceptance is simple, it is only the satisfaction of material desire, and the happiness given is bilateral, it embodies the noble personality,it is the satisfaction of the spirit, it is a kind of deep happiness that is needed,it is a kind of happiness with higher realm and higher level.
Today, people often think of what they get first, not what they give. And often because how much to get and complain, so that people's feelings gradually indifferent.
For instance,if I gave away some money ,goods and materials to the people who are in need in the remote countryside ,instead of getting a sense of give-away,but feeling fully self-satisfied.And that's why I feel it much better to give than to receive.
It's like a sentence saying that "If you can be a bunch of light, you can illuminate the people around you",whose presupposition is to give out your light ,and it proves your value that illuminate s your heart and soul.Owing to the bilateral significance, you give at the same time equivalent to acceptance, this kind of acceptance not only inludes you but also others, that's say the kind of giving is a broad acceptance.Only when you give indeed, will you know the exact meaning of my view today.
Therefore, guys, let's give appropriately ,rather than receiving all the time.Believe in me and keep it in mind that give is the permanent gift for you and the world. It is better to give than to receive. That's all. Thanks for giving time!
Give and reception are two common contrary things in our daily life.Give and reception also have respective meaning in a way.Give stands for kindness giving away something even a person who is merciful,While reception represents demand ask for something from others even a person who is lazy. All I want to elaborate is that it is better to give than to receive.
In our usual time, you could be selected to a more successful man if you give a thing rather than receive a thing.once in a research, the US psychologists measured the happiness levels of 16 employees of one firm before and after they received bonuses, what affected their happiness most was not the size of the bonus, but how they spent it. Those who devoted more of their bonus to presents for their friends or families and gifts to charity consistently claimed they were happier than others who spent the money for themselves. Unbelievable, right? Most people may think that if you earn more money, you are going to be a lot happier, because you spend more for yourself. But the research shows that people are happier if they spend their money on other people. Why? I think the answer to this is 「Roses given, fragrance in hand」. I think most of us will feel that when you make someone happy, it makes you happy too. The amazing thing is that when you are giving, you are actually receiving at the same time. You are not only the giver but also the receiver. And sometimes, your giving could make the world different and even change someone’s life.
Lastly,As the saying goes, it's better to give a rose to others than to ask for it. Being willing to help others is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. When you are helpless, other people's help to you is very important, so when we have the ability to help others, we try our best to help others. Helping others is also a potential help for ourselves.Above all, since we know the philosophy of 「it is better to give than to receive」, we should try our best to help the others.
Good morning, everyone. These is my great honor to stand here to give a speech to you.And next, I will start my speech around the theme of giving is better than receiving.
I very much agree with the view that giving is better than receiving.Giving means that I give something to others, and receiving means that others give me something. In other words, giving is equivalent to an output. It is one's own ability to give and can help others within the scope of one's own ability. Then acceptance is equivalent to an input. This is like a simple acquisition, from the hands of others. For example, when we learn English, we go to memorize articles, knowledge points, and words. These are all inputs. Then if we apply what we have memorized to our daily English communication, English writing, and spoken English expression, this is a kind of output. If you simply memorize the knowledge of English,it is still very difficult to learn English well. Because this just instills it into the brain, but this is something else.If you want to turn it into your own thing, you must think and express yourself. Then express it the way you want. This will be a true output. So output is more important than input.Similarly, this also shows that giving is better than receiving.
When we give things to others, we must first be very happy and have the ability to give things to others. This is our own will. Then we will be happy because we can give to others. When the given person feels very happy because of what we give, we are also very happy. And the person who gives will be truly happy in the heart, which not only helps others, but also helps themselves. Not only makes others happy, but also makes oneself happy. So I think that giving is double happiness.Let's talk about acceptance. When we receive items from others, we must first be very happy. But this one is the only happy point, and that is to receive items from others. So acceptance is a single piece of happiness.Double happiness is definitely happier than single happiness. So in the same way, giving is better than receiving.
