For example, if we don't know the meaning of a word, we will definitely look it up in a dictionary, whether it is a printed dictionary or an electronic dictionary.那「查詞典」的英文怎麼說呢？是check the dictionary?查詞典的英文是: ① look sth. up in a dictionary. 也可以用：② consult a dictonary to look in or at sth to get information 查閱；查詢；參看當然還有一個詞組叫：③ refer to , 比如refer to the notes 查閱筆記。為什麼 check dictionary是錯誤的？因為check表示的是「檢查」、「核實」，比如檢查一本詞典是否完好，檢查這項工作有沒有做到位等等。
