《英漢大詞典》（第 2 版）是一部第 1 頁我找不到明顯問題的詞典。
《新世紀英漢大詞典》雖有自己的特色和優勢，但是全典第一個例證的翻譯，我個人就有不同意見。
新世紀英漢大詞典A for Alpha Alpha 的 A
評：但是要把「Alpha 的 A」再翻譯為英文，似乎「A in Alpha」比較合適。《北約音標字母》（NATO phonetic alphabet）: 「A for Alpha, B for Bravo, C for Charlie, D for Delta…」 要記憶的話，「Alpha 的 A，Bravo 的 B，Charlie 的 C……」這麼輔助記憶倒還不錯。
上面這個值得商榷，我覺得可以翻譯為「A 代表 Alpha」。第一頁另一個例句能引出真正的問題。
新世紀英漢大詞典» Use a hard cheese, like Cheddar. 用一種硬奶酪，比如切達奶酪。

現代漢語規範詞典（第 3 版）歧出 qíchū
①動 旁出。歧出的一條小道伸向山裡。
②形 同一本書或同一篇文章內的用詞（多指術語）前後不一致。術語歧出是學術論文的大忌。
AAA
All American Aviation 《全美國航空》（期刊名）
《21 世紀大英漢詞典》收錄了很多其他詞典沒有的義項，這一點在 AAA 條目下顯露無遺。但是，我沒找到 All American Aviation 這本雜誌，倒查到有家航空公司 1937-1949 年叫這個名字，1949 年改名 All American Airways ，後又改名 4 次（改名狂魔），現名 American Airlines，AA，美航。
Google 關鍵詞」All American Aviation magazine AAA」，可以搜到 Flying Magazine Jan 1940 裡有文章出現了如下文字。

《新時代英漢大詞典》上面的例句由於缺乏語境，正誤不好講，第一頁的下面一個就是硬傷了。

《新時代英漢大詞典》這個義項顯然是參考了《英漢大詞典》，《英漢大詞典》參考了 WBD 。
我到底想表達什麼呢？我想說的是《新時代英漢大詞典》「[用於＄A 或以前的 ￡ A 中]Australia(n)」，最後這個括號「()」加得不對，這裡 A 代表的就是 Australian dollar 裡的 Australian ，不含 Australia ，在 WBD、OED 中，都只有 Australian ，A 肯定是可以作為 Australia 的縮寫的，但不是在這個語境下，不清楚編輯是否是出於避嫌（和《英漢大》有所區分），還是其他方面的考慮，加了這個括號。

評：這本詞典是 1997 年出版的，藍本是 1984 年版《藍登書屋韋氏大學詞典》（Random House Webster’s College Dictionary）。1990 年 10 月 3 日，兩德統一，聯邦德國不復存在。我覺得 1997 年出版的詞典，應該有義務與時俱進，修訂相關信息，儘管它是以英文原版詞典為藍本的。
英華大詞典（修訂第三版），1999He tried to jump up a third time. 他試圖作第三次的跳高動作。
評：現在用「做動作」更多吧，拋開「做」、「作」，這個譯文讀著也很彆扭，但是因為缺少上下文，不好講。我 Google 了一下，這個例句應該源自某部英和辭典。
小學館ランダムハウス英和大辭典（第２版）((序數の前につけて)) さらにもう一度の
He tried to jump up a third time. 彼はさらにもう一度飛び上がろうとした（◆三度目ということよりも，一度，また一度，さらにもう一度という含み）.

國際英漢大辭典a
► 用在 few, good many 或 great many 等所修飾的複數名詞前: a few donations 少許捐款。 a few dollar 幾塊錢。 a great many things 許許多多的事。
► 用在 hundred, thousand, dozen 等單數形的形容詞前： a thousand men 一千人。 a dozen eggs 一打蛋。
評：我覺得改為「用在修飾複數名詞的 few, good many 或 great many 前」更好，否則，為何接下來一個義項不這樣寫「用在 hundred, thousand, dozen 等所修飾的名詞前」，反而要強調是在「……形容詞」前。《國際英漢大辭典》把 hundred, thonsand, dozen 等稱作「單數形的形容詞」，這是另外一個話題了，現在至少各大學習型英語詞典，主流是把這些詞詞性標註為 number 、determiner 等，沒有標註為「形容詞」的。
《國際英漢大辭典》（1993）可以看作《遠東英漢大辭典》（1976）的繼承者。

《新時代英漢大詞典》同樣摘錄了這個源自 W3 的例句，只是改進了下。

注意對比下「I believe」的翻譯，《英漢辭海》翻譯為「我相信」，《新時代》翻譯為「我想」，我傾向於後者的譯法，查下《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》，給出的 SHORT CUTS，第一個是「FEEL CERTAIN」（相信），第二個是「THINK POSSIBLE」（認為有可能）。
單從第 1 頁看，《英漢大詞典》（第 2 版）是我見到的最好、最全、最準確的英漢詞典。從 A 到 A.A. 條，幾乎沒有人會專門查，卻是編輯著力很多的條目，不讀真是太浪費啦。
挑一個義項，可以和上面所列其他詞典做對比。
