最近丸子的好朋友 Jane 在學駕照，學過的小夥伴都知道，通常去駕校都會很早，一天她還沒睡醒就跑到駕校，然後順勢上了副駕。
教練一臉問號的看著她，心想：嗯，這個女學生不錯不錯，你在教我做事？
藉此機會剛好我們就來討論討論「駕駛座」的英文小知識~~
大家都知道「駕駛座」的英文是：driver's seat，但是很多小夥伴對「副駕」的英文就比較陌生啦。其實，也很簡單，副駕就是 （front） passenger seat 啦~"passenger seat"直譯過來是「乘客的座位」，通常來說它可以表示「副駕」。但注意啦，在某些場合下，如果加上"front"它的意思可能更加明確！front 有「前面」的意思，所以「前面乘客的位置」，也就是通常我們所說的「副駕」啦~

例句：

May I take the （front）passenger seat？

我能坐副駕嗎？



shotgun ，它的本義是「獵槍、滑膛槍」，但它也可以用來表示「副駕」，大家知道為什麼嗎？

喜歡泰勒·斯威夫特的小夥伴一定了解，在黴黴那首《Our song》裡，第一句歌詞就是：

♪♪  I was riding shotgun.... 我坐著副駕座位 ♪♪

在以前窮人多，治安也不太好，馬車夫由於雙手駕馬，無法持槍，所以坐在他旁邊的人一般會手裡端著獵槍（shotgun）來保護他的安全。

所以「坐副駕」就成了"ride shotgun"

汽車駕駛員是"driver"大家知道飛機駕駛員怎麼說嗎？

例句：

飛行員可能因缺氧而變得不能合理操作。



一般來說飛機駕駛員都有兩個，另外一個是「副駕駛員」他的英文是：copilot 英 [ kəʊˌpaɪlət] 美 [ koʊˌpaɪlət]
