今年中國電影在坎城電影節大放異彩,由胡歌、桂綸鎂主演,刁亦男執導的《南方車站的聚會》更是入圍主競賽。但中國買家在坎城市場卻比往年更加審慎。在經歷了對於各路影人來說頗為跌宕起伏的一年之後,中國這個全球最大的電影市場變得更加冷靜、目的性更加明確、也更加專業。
This is a hot year for Chinese movies in Cannes as several from the country are selected, and The Wild Goose Lake, directed by Diao Yinan and starring Hu Ge and Gui Lunmei, even made its way to the main competition. However, the Chinese buyers in Marché are more chilled than in previous years.
2019年仍然變幻莫測,中外電影行業和市場也從來沒有停止進化。在中國,網際網路和新媒體展現了強勁的相關性。以龍躍會員路畫影業引進的《何以為家》和《小偷家族》為例,借力熱門短視頻平臺宣傳,兩部海外藝術電影在廣受好評的同時創造了票房奇蹟,也反之推動了普通觀眾的觀影視野和品味的改變。同時,新一代青年影人湧現,開拓了中小成本、特殊題材影片的領域,隨之的票房成功也是新一代觀眾喜好轉向的折射。此外,中國電影工業化體系也在逐步成熟,雖然動畫和後期等領域仍在尋求更先進的歐洲技術支持,但本土團隊已經逐漸開啟對科幻等類型電影的嘗試。
The year 2019 is still hard to predict, and the Chinese market and industry never stop from evolving, and strong relativity with the internet and new media is shown in this process. Take Capernaum and Shoplifters as an example, both imported by BTD member Road Pictures, the two arthouse movies reached a surprising-high box office by promoting on ChineseTiktok, and in turn, it broadened the horizon and taste of regular movie viewers. At the same time, the new generation of filmmakers is emerging, the following success of their works reflects the changing favors of the new generation of audiences. The furthered industrialization as well has allowed the local team to try out genre films like sci-fi, though they are still looking for technical support form Europe for animation and post-production.
大陸另一端,歐洲市場也在不斷迭代,俄羅斯在2018年超越法國成為歐洲最大的電影市場,2019年這一趨勢似乎仍將延續。歐洲出口至中國的電影數量和質量日漸提高,有些影片高歌猛擊有些則石沉大海,這與中歐兩地觀眾群體年齡分布、題材喜好等方面的差異息息相關。
On the other side of the continent, the European market is also undergoing evolution. Russia, instead of France, has become the largest film market in 2018, and it is seemingly to continue this year. The quality and quantity of European films exported to China have increased, while some triumphed and some without even made a splash. It is relevant to the differences in age range and content preference of China and Europe audiences.
但可以肯定的是,隨著當前國際電影市場的形勢日趨多變,海外與中國影人之間也依然缺乏對於彼此職業人脈和實質性「幕後」故事的了解,尤其是在內容合作方面。
One thing is for sure: as the current situation has become more and more complex, foreigners still lack substantial 「behind-the-scenes」-knowledge and personal connections.
龍躍中歐製片人協會與坎城電影節電影市場共同舉辦的中外製片人見面會於5月19日圓滿結束。這已是兩個機構的第四次強強聯手,為中外影人在最具國際影響力的電影節期間搭建交流平臺。來自大地電影、1905影業、Cinestaan等在內的53家海內外製片及發行公司參與了此次見面會,建立個人關係,並開啟未來合作的機會。
This year for the fourth time "Bridging the Dragon」 in partnershipwith theMarchédu Filmhas set up the Sino-International Company Meetings which was held in the afternoon on Sunday, May 19. The two organizations tied hands to provide a platform for filmmakers to communicate during the most influential international festival. Approximately 53 selected producers from global production and distribution companies like Dadi, 1905, Cinestaan, etc, participated in the meetings, in order to build personal relationships and open the chance of future collaboration.
今年,龍躍坎城製片人見面會的申請人數進一步增加,收到了超過200家公司的申請,更是有諸多世界頂級製片、發行公司報名參與。這也從側面表明,對于越來越多的產業人士來說,中外合作仍然是非常重要的目標。儘管與中國合作是一個長期的過程,但各個領域的電影人仍在篤定堅持,期待進一步的結果。因此,像製片人見面會這樣的活動被視為中外合作入門或後續活動的奠基石。
The association acknowledges a further increase in the number of applications, this time exceeding 200, with applications from many world-class production or distribution companies. It shows that working with China is still an important goal for more and more players that are though aware of the long-term process and the demand of strong commitment and time-consuming efforts, and filmmakers in all roles are looking upon on the future outcomes. Events like Company Meetings are thus seen as an important step of introduction or follow up.

此外,龍躍今年還攜手坎城電影市場及挪威電影協會(Norwegian Film Institute)於5月18日舉辦了中歐影人交流酒會並對挪威優秀電影製片人進行推介。來自MIRAMAX、ARRI、萬達影業、大地電影等公司的製片人以及諸多國際電影節負責人齊聚一堂,交流過去一年中的國際市場動態,增進彼此聯繫。
The Cannes event had its kick-off on Saturday, May 18with a Networking Party on the ScandinavianTerrace hosted by the Norwegian Film Institute, one of the international supporters of the association. Producers from Miramax. ARRI, Wanda, Dadi, etc, and representatives from global international film festivals joined together for a fruitful night.

近期的中國電影市場風潮集中於翻拍,義大利票房冠軍《完美陌生人》的中國翻拍版《來電狂響》取得了巨大成功(破6億人民幣票房),其製片公司新麗傳媒也正式加入龍躍成為會員。觀眾越來越多樣化、海外獨立電影越來越受到歡迎、以及不斷發展壯大中的中國藝術電影放映聯盟,都啟發了中外合作的新思路。我們希望,2019會成為眾多籌備中的官方合拍影片的收穫之年。與此同時,龍躍將進一步促進中國與世界電影產業的親密接觸。
Recent trends like the interest in remakes, that follow big successes like the remake of Italian blockbusterPerfectStrangers(which achieved more than 80M Euros box office), and the film’s production companyNew Classics Mediajust joined BTD as a member.The more and more diversified audience, that welcomes foreign indies likeTheInvisible GuestorShoplifters, as well as the country’s growing National Alliance of Art-house Cinemas, open new doors for collaborations with foreign companies and partners. We all hope this will be the year that will show the success of some of the official co-productions that are in the pipeline. Meanwhile Bridging the Dragon will continue to further encourage the film business between China and the world to get closer to each other.

Since its creation 5 years ago, the Sino-European Producers' Association "Bridging the Dragon" has set itself the task to encourage and facilitate the cooperation between the two film markets. As the official partner of the Marché du Film in Cannes, the initiative believes in the importance of promoting knowledge and personal relationships. Producing suitable content is not only a result of a financial investment but it requires experience, mutual trust and often exchange of creative ideas. With this in mind, "Bridging the Dragon" organizes a large number of different events that go from public talks, regularly discussing the development and challenges related to the Chinese market, matchmaking get-togethers, an immersive yearly Sino-European Project lab and custom-made consultancy service for its members.
