Love does not follow a pattern. At times love is unpredictable. Psychology has tried to explain the feeling of love and how it work, however, no one has all the answers about the mystery of love. How can love be summarized?




The focus here is not to talk about love as a complexity. I want you and I to go on a journey through concepts of love at first sight. We』ll attempt to decipher if true love is fact or fiction. This article is meant to cause you to think, look back at your experiences and share your views with us in the comment section below.


What is love at first sight? Love at first sight is a personal experience and a common trope in literature in which a person, character, or speaker feels an instant, extreme, and ultimately long-lasting romantic attraction for a stranger they』ve never seen before. 


Let’s look at love at first sight from the vantage point of personal experience.




Love at first sight is based on looks. However, appearance doesn’t make a foundation for a long lasting relationship. Look surely wins in one night stands, but for a long term relationship, look is just icing on the cake.


How many of you have seen a stranger on the street and thought he/she is the right one only to find out that he/she is married, in a serious relationship, divorced or has any other relationship killing glitch. 




As the saying goes 「be careful what you wish for.」 Some people have made us to believe that love at first sight is an answer to our wishes or silent prayers (most likely popular media is at fault). When we experience love at first sight, we see only what we want to see. However, reality may quickly set in. 




It may seem as if I』ve only given you reasons why i feel love at first sight is a mirage. Now let’s investiage love at first sight as a possible reality.




Have you ever fell in love with a song upon first listening? How about seen clothing, a pet or shoes and just had to have them? Can’t the same happen between human beings? When two people meet and feel the exact same way at the exact same moment - that’s love at first sight; a love at first sight that will last. It’s a love not based on sexual attraction, but intuition.
