country是指「與城市相對而言的農村」，不是指某個具體的村莊；而village則是指具體的村莊。
countryside是指「與城市相對而言的農村」,village則是指具體的村莊.countryside要帶定冠詞THE泛指一切鄉村地域或居民.
country 作「鄉村」講時,側重指區別於城市的鄉間、鄉下.特別注意的是,country的另一個意思是「國家」,一般說來,表示「國家」的country可與不定冠詞連用；而表示「鄉村」之義的country則總是同定冠詞一同出現.
countryside, country
這兩個詞都可指「農村」,其區別在於前者常用於泛指一切鄉村地域或居民,後者則指區別於city和town的鄉下、鄉間。例如:
