最近，不知道大家有沒有留意到，
中式英文的add oil(加油)一詞，
被世界最權威的《牛津英語詞典》收錄了！
(Oxford English Dictionary，簡稱OED)
共青團也官宣了這件事~
據牛津英語詞典解釋，
『add oil』是港式英文（Hong Kong English）
有鼓勵、支持的意思，
(expressing encouragement, incitement, or support)
相當於英文的『go on』或『go for it』。
OED收了4條add oil的書證
(quotation，書面證據，即有來源出處的例句)
時間最近的一條出現於2016年6月7日
引用的媒體是China Daily的香港版

一個詞如何被收錄進OED？
根據牛津大學出版社的說法，一個詞必須要求在一段「合理的時間」內具備充分獨立使用的例子才能被納入考慮範圍。出版商還會考慮這個詞是否已達到「普遍接受水平」，即讀者無需釋義便知其義。
How does a word get into the OED?
According to Oxford University Press, a word must require sufficient independent examples of use over a 「reasonable amount of time」 to be considered for inclusion. The publishers also consider whether the word has reached a 「level of general currency」, that is, understood by readers without the need of an explanation of its meaning.
就像牛津詞典曾經收錄過的那些詞，
比如「jiaozi」、「Square Dancing」…
想讓「add oil」像它們一樣流行，
還需要咱們的共同努力才可以！
更何況，為什麼要叫「add oil」？
為什麼不能和下面這些收錄詞一樣，
直接用漢語拼音，叫做「jia you」呢？
「jiaozi」（餃子）
由薄麵皮做成的新月形餃子，餡料通常是肉、捲心菜、韭菜等切成的細末，然後將其煎、炸、烤或煮。

hongbao（紅包）
一種把錢放進紅信封裡的傳統中式禮物，「如果你不給紅包，你會令人側目」。

"if you don't give a hongbao, you'll stand out"
wuxia（武俠）
中國古代四處遊歷的劍客或武士。常用做定語，特指一種中國的歷史小說或武術電影，主角常被描繪為身懷絕技的武士。因此也僅指這類小說或電影。
An itinerant swordsman or warrior of ancient China. Freq. attrib., esp. designating a genre of Chinese historical fiction or martial arts films featuring such warriors, who are often depicted as capable of superhuman feats. Hence also simply: this genre of fiction or film.
還有著名網紅「goji Berry」（枸杞）：
耳熟能詳的「long time no see」：
來自洋涇浜英語的「no can do」（做不到）：
對，就是這個「做不到」！
……
以及：
「hutong」（胡同）
「feng shui」（風水）
「kowtwo」（叩頭）
「lose face」（丟臉）
「guanxi」（關係）
……
等等中式詞彙，不一而足~
不過無論如何，add oil被牛津詞典收錄，
