Peppa Pig accused of sexism

Peppa Pig, the perkylittleporcinebeloved ofpreschoolersacross the world, is at the center of asexismrowafter London's fire service accused makers of the hit show of using "out of datestereotypicalgender specific wording."

The blockbustercartoon, which airs in more than 180 countries, has faced criticism after an episode called "The Fire Engine" referred to a firefighter as a fireman. The London Fire Brigade tweeted: "Come on @peppapig, we've not been firemen for 30 years. You have a huge influence on kids & using out of date stereotypical gender specific wording prevents young girls from becoming firefighters."

The fire brigade's tweets sparked a row, with one Twitter user posting a picture of a Peppa Pig story book that clearly features several female firefighters, including Mummy Pig.

More Chinese women are entering China's property market, with the proportion of women homebuyers having increased by nearly 18% over the past four years. According to a recent analysis from Ke.com, a property listing website, although property market is still dominated by men, there's an increasing number of single women who are new buyers year on year.

The United Kingdom's decision to leave the European Union has led major financial companies in London to move assets and staff to continental Europe. According to a recent report by think tank The New Financial, more than 40 companies have shifted staff or operations to more than one financial center within the EU, with 100 choosing Dublin, the Irish capital, as a post-Brexitlocation, which was the most popular choice ahead of Luxembourg, with 60, Paris with 41, Frankfurt with 40, and Amsterdam with 32.

Companies are migrating to, or expanding in, multiple financial centers, with many either establishing a dedicated division for EU business or spreading their staff more evenly throughout the EU.
