4月15日（本周六）下午，木木美術館將在館內舉辦法國系列電影放映活動，放映法國新浪潮時期影片《祖與佔》。作為這個時期的代表影片，《祖與佔》由法國著名的電影大師、新浪潮電影代表人物弗朗索瓦·特呂弗執導。
M WOODS presents the first part of its French Film Series on Saturday afternoon, screening the French New Wave classic 「Jules and Jim」. Many traits of the widely-admired cinematic movement feature in the film, directed by the master auteur Francois Truffaut.
在第二次世界大戰後，新的一代年輕電影人在當時的社會氛圍下湧現。他們中有一群人不滿足於通過發表影評來表達對於當時電影制度的不滿，轉而自己開始了電影的創作。一種新的電影美學流派就此產生——以表現個性為主，不涉及政治性的主題，提倡自然主義，追求向生活靠攏，向真實深入。「新浪潮電影」提倡使用快捷便攜的設備，使用長鏡頭來表現劇情，很大程度上改變了觀眾的觀影體驗。
Following the Second World War, the French New Wave emerged as a group of filmmakers rejecting the institutional subjects and stories of French cinema at the time. Their intent was to capture a youthful spirit, to shoot outdoors and on location, to advocate for naturalism in performance and environment, and ultimately to close the gap between cinema and everyday reality. French New Wave filmmakers tended to shoot quickly with portable equipment, and experimented with discontinuous editing and long takes, significantly changing the experience for the viewer.
本片的故事發生在一戰前夕，德國人祖和法國人佔在巴黎結識，他們意趣相投，並愛上同一個聰明貌美的女子凱薩琳，祖展開追求，佔選擇把感情埋在心裡。戰爭的爆發，讓祖與佔失去了聯繫，但祖從未間斷給妻子凱薩琳寫信。戰後祖與佔再次重逢，佔在祖家中住下，卻發現祖與凱薩琳之間的矛盾。凱薩琳毫不掩飾地表達了對佔的愛，佔選擇離開時，凱薩琳做出了驚人之舉……
On the eve of the First World War, the German Jules and the French Jim get to know each other in Paris- they are like-minded and both fall in love with a same charming woman Catherin, though their approaches to letting her know are different. As the war progresses, Jules stops contacting Jim, though he still writes letters to her. Subsequently Jules and Jim meet again and relationships between themselves and Catherin become tumultuous, resulting in an unexpected ending.
《祖與佔》的原著小說由昂利-皮埃爾·羅什撰寫。羅什在七十四歲高齡時發表了他的這第一本小說《祖與佔》，羅什精湛、簡潔的文筆深深吸引了特呂弗的注意，他十分欣賞這一作品，並邀請羅什與他共同完成了這部電影的劇本。雖然在《祖與佔》的拍攝完成時羅什已經不幸離世，但這部電影的問世成為了法國電影新浪潮最重要的裡程碑之一。而本片中對三角關係的精彩描述和刻畫，也為世界影史上同類型愛情題材的電影提供了參考。
「Jules and Jim」 was originally a novel written by Henri Pierre Roché. It was his first novel, which he published at the age of 70. Roché's exquisite, concise writing attracted the attention of Truffaut, who appreciated the work and invited Roché to work together with him to complete the screenplay. By the time the film finished shooting, Roché had passed away, but the film went on to become one of the most important milestones in the history of French New Wave film.

《克里斯多福·伊沃雷：哀歌》已於3月4日開幕，將持續至6月11日。這是伊沃雷在亞洲舉辦的第一場博物館級展覽，也是其在歐洲及北美以外的第一場個展。展覽陳列這位法國藝術家職業生涯中多個階段的繪畫作品，跨度涵蓋藝術家早期對空間的探索至47歲去世前創作的厚塗花卉作品。
《克里斯多福·伊沃雷：哀歌》由雷宛螢（晚晚）策展，是木木美術館繼《安迪·沃霍爾:接觸》（2016.08.06– 2017.01.07）之後，以「挖掘新興藝術家的同時，為知名藝術家的作品帶來新思考」為使命系列的第二場重要展覽。
The current exhibition at M WOODS is a retrospective exhibition of the work of artist Cristof Yvoré (1967 –2013). It will be the first ever museum exhibition of Yvoré’s work in Asia, as well as the artist’s first soloexhibition outside of Europe and North America.
Cristof Yvoré: An Ode at M WOODS presents paintings from many stages of the French painter’s career, ranging from his early experiments with space to the heavily impastoed floral works he made before his death at the age of 47.
Curated by Wanwan Lei, Cristof Yvoré: An Ode is the second in a series of major solo exhibitions at M WOODS, whose mission is to promote emerging or overlooked artists while illuminating new perspectives on established ones. The first exhibition in this M WOODS series was Andy Warhol: Contact (August 6, 2016 – January 7, 2017).
