一、on earth
on earth主要是用在口語中，用來強調以下3種情況的說話語氣。
1、和what/why/how/where/who等特殊疑問詞連用，表示「究竟、到底」，用來詢問令人驚訝或生氣的事情。
例句1：How on earth did that happen?那到底是怎麼發生的？
例句2：What on earth do you like about me? I swear I'm going to get rid of it.你究竟喜歡我哪一點？我改還不行嗎！
2、和否定詞連用，表示「一點也不、絕對沒有」，相當於at all。
例句1：Nothing on earth can change my mind.沒有什麼能改變我的想法。
例句2：As he said he wasn't a henpecked husband(妻管嚴) on earth, he bought himself a keyboard, a washboard and a durian(榴槤).他一邊說自己壓根不怕老婆，一邊給自己買好了鍵盤、榴槤、搓衣板。
3、和最高級連用，表示「世界上」，相當於in the world。
