This weeks activity was based on the topic of 「transport」 that we have been doing in class. In this activity we had the students complete a worksheet by tracing straight and curved lines.
Each student got a worksheet with different types of transportation, and lines with different curvatures. They got to choose what color crayon they like and and trace the lines till the end of the page. Tracing can help develop fine motor skills, improve hand/eye coordination, dexterity and spatial awareness.
During the activity, we reviewed the different types of transport and had the students produce the language 「it’s a train」, 「it’s a car」, 「it’s an airplane」, 「it’s a bus」. We also asked them what color they like and they would respond with 「I like (color).」 We then ended with a game relating to different places we can travel to. We asked them: 「Where shall we go」 and students produced the language 「let’s go to the beach」, 「let’s go to the mountains」 and 「let’s go to the city」
